I know how to start a thread but do I just copy and paste the first few posts? Do we have a name? I'll wait for a few more opinions and maybe do it tomorrow as I'm on my phone now. :)

It's the weekend! And I'm still planning on staying on plan. Not entirely sure how as I still feel awful and so don't think I can be bothered venturing out to the shops. Girls at their dad, so I think another sofa day is on the cards for me.

    B - Coffee (HEA1)

S - Watermelon, banana (usually Breakfast, but I'll see if I feel like it later)

L - WM Roll (HEB), Laughing Cow Blue Cheese (1.5syns), Ham (P)
    WW Yogurt (0.5syns)
    Hula Hoop Pufts (3.5syns)

D - No idea yet. Was supposed to be chicken stroganoff, but I haven't taken chicken out of freezer, nor have I got everything in to cook it.

    S - Alpen Bar (3.0syns), Tea (HEA1)

More syns - wine if I feel like it. Might not bother.

Up to 68.5syns for the week (mainly on prosecco last night, oops), so 36.5sysns left.

I usually sit down on a Friday morning and write a meal plan with my girls for the week and then buy the stuff I need at the weekend. Going to try and tweak bits of this week's to make it SW for me as well.

Garlic Chicken, Wedges, Carrots - Think this is SW friendly enough. Only syns will be in the garlic sauce which is a maggi packet.

Tacos, Mince, Salad - Not sure how I syn this. Will probably buy a packet mix and think syns will be for the tacos only?

Tuna, Pasta, Mayo - gymnastics day. I will meet my daughter at gymnastics (a friend takes her) and she will (hopefully) bring my pot of tuna pasta that my mum will have made. 2syns for the mayo.

Butter Chicken Curry, Rice, Poppadoms - my intention was to make more of the chicken stroganoff I am meant to be making today. Haven't worked out syns per portion yet, but it's only for flour and Dijon mustard. And I will avoid the poppadoms!

Pizza - Not sure how I'm going to swerve pizza as usually I can't resist any lo. Any tips on low syn pizzas as the WW wrap ones just don't cut it for me?!

McDonalds as out at brother's house. I was thinking of buying a SW meal from Iceland to have.

Sausages, Frankfurters, Mash, Beans, Corn on Cob - I will be having Heck sausages (2syns).

    How organised am I?!!!

You're doing so well to be below target tie.:T

    Have a lovely evening. :)

Great idea to have a meal plan Pollyanna. Is this fairly typical of the meals your girls would choose? I've made a few notes to try to help.

The whole packet of mix is just 4.5 syns so if you're sharing it with the girls then you'll be sharing the syns.

Tacos, Mince, Salad - Not sure how I syn this. Will probably buy a packet mix and think syns will be for the tacos only?
I don't know much about tacos but you'll need the 5% mince to make that free. Old el Paso spice mix is 3 syns for a 25g sachet and the 13g tacos (from a pack of 12) are 3.5 each. Perhaps you could just eat the salad and mince and not have the tacos? Or make something else with mince?.

There is a syn free SW butter chicken and various other low syn versions if you google the recipe. How are you making yours? Or is the plan for you to have something different (stroganoff)?

Pizza - Not sure how I'm going to swerve pizza as usually I can't resist any lo. Any tips on low syn pizzas as the WW wrap ones just don't cut it for me?!
There really isn't a low syn way of having 'proper' pizza because of the base and the cheese, if you don't want to use a HEB wrap. It's best avoided or make it one of the days you have something separate from the girls.

McDonalds as out at brother's house. I was thinking of buying a SW meal from Iceland to have.
I'm not sure I understand. Do you buy McDs on the way home from your brother's? The chicken and bacon salad is about the lowest syn (other than just plain salad) thing you can buy at 1.5 syns. You could have a ready meal but that might be better when everyone is having pizza. ;)

Sausages, Frankfurters, Mash, Beans, Corn on Cob - I will be having Heck sausages (2syns).
it's low syn but low on Speed. You could either have speed at other parts of the day or perhaps have fried onions or mushrooms or baby corn instead with it.

    How organised am I?!!!
    Very!!:D

It's a menu that you could have within syns if that's what you want to eat. It will rely on you having Speed fruit and veg heavily at breakfast and lunch and you'd find it hard to have many syns left for weekend wine. :( HTH

I plan to make some more braised red cabbage for the freezer today but finding to hard to motivate myself to do much. Maybe I'll buy some frozen onions as I find that such a faff. :o

Not even feeling particularly hungry today. I'll write down my plan but if I don't feel like lunch then I have more strawberries and raspberries I could snack on.

    Today's EE plan:
B: NAS grapefruit (free squash), strawberries, raspberries (S) Greek yogurt (P) HEA milk for drinks
L: stir fry veg (SP with noodles (F)
D: liver and bacon (P), mash (F) with onions, carrots and broccoli (S)
Syns: gravy (2? for cornflour) and weekend wine:j
  • Hello all, I'm back from a lovely relaxing holiday having only put on 1lb so I'm pleased with that - all the yoga and swimming must have offset the pasta, pizza and wine consumption!

Just under 16 weeks to Christmas and I would like to lose 23lb which would take me to a healthy BMI (I know that's arbitrary but it seems a sensible number to aim for!).

Meal plan and food shop to be done this aft, bought the new SW mag yesterday and it's full of stews and casseroles - love this time of year, I find it so much easier to eat healthily somehow!

    How is everyone?? x

  • Well I don't mind if there is a new thread or this one stays, I am too new to comment :) But.....as long as it keeps on going one way or another I am happy :)
DD has invited us all over her and her fiances house tonight for a meal, so I am taking mine with me as I don't want to put on anything as I have holiday in a few days.
    So meals today:
Breakfast: Tangerine (S) and Apple (S) cup of tea (HEA) To be honest the apple and tangerine were not nice, they were Aldi's which I am usually fine with but the ones I bought last week from Iceland were so much nicer.
Dinner: Some more of my homemade soup, so all (S) other than sweet potatoes and potatoes (F), wholemeal roll 60g (HEA), 20g cheese (HEA) and beetroot (S). I am really full now.
Tea: Penne pasta (F), Tuna (P?), rocket (S), cucumber (S) and tomatoes (S) and some salad cream!! 4 syns.
Snacks 3 jaffa cakes 7.5 syns, milky coffee 1 sugar = 1 syn and milk from HEA, and probably 2 more cups of tea (HEA). Syns in all 12.5
How much pasta would be ok do you think? Maybe 50g of dry?
Weight loss 6lb/16lb 10lb to go
I spend an insane amount of time wondering if I am doing it right, sometimes I remind myself that I am doing my best....and that is enough

Stayed the flipping same again! Am home armed with SAS log and determined to lose 3 lbs this week so I can go on holiday 2 stone lighter.

A few years ago I did SW and lost 1.75 stones and same thing happened, I just stayed the same despite having plenty still to lose. i gave up then! :(
