  • Afernoon everyone :)
    Meals today are:
Breakfast: Apple (S), Tangerine (S) and a cup of tea with HEA
Dinner: Soup made from broccolli (S), carrots (S), sweet potatoes (F), potatoes (F), onions (S), mushrooms (S) and an aldi vegetable stock cube, and then a 60g wholemeal roll (HEA) with 25g cheese (HEA) and beetroot. Ate it all :)
Tea tonight is same as last few days: Chicken tikka (P), rocket (S), tomatoes (S), cucumber (S), beetroot (S), and SW chips (again!) (F) and 1 egg (P).
Snacks are 3 Jaffa cakes 7.5 syns
1 sugar in milky coffee (HEA) and 1 syn
Salad cream half tbsp so 2 syns
    Total syns 10.5
Went shopping today and looked in Aldi for lighter than light mayo but they only had light and it was 37 calories per tbsp so I thought it was too high, but did buy fry light as the chips I have been having are small new potatoes cut lengthways and grilled with nothing on them, they are ok but might be nicer with a bit of fry light :)
Tomorrow I am going to try and make curry, I thought about using 0% greek style yogurt with curry powder, chicken, mushrooms and onions and some peas, would the peas be free? or syns?? and again I will have it with sw chips, I have some wholegrain rice but I am not confident yet to eat it in case it puts weight on!!!!!!!!
I am loving this! I have eaten a really small amount for months and the same boring stuff and now I feel like I am full and eating all sorts, especially losing weight this morning, it was great :)
I might save my roll tomorrow for teatime and have a chip butty dunked in the curry! :) Do you think it would hinder my weight loss to eat most of my food at teatime which is about 6.30/7 ish for us??
Weight loss 6lb/16lb 10lb to go
I spend an insane amount of time wondering if I am doing it right, sometimes I remind myself that I am doing my best....and that is enough

Well done DIM - and great to hear that you're eating better too. Aldi has apparently had some issue with supplies of LTL mayo - none in my local lately - and your chips will definitely be better with frylight. This is how I do mine after a lot of trial and error. Peel potatoes (if you want to, I don't) cut into chips, rinse in cold water and drain. Spray a baking sheet with frylight, cook the chips in a heatproof bowl in micro for 6 mins, allow to cool and dry a bit, scatter on the tray, spray more frylight and I shake a bit of Aldi's Season All over them, bake in the oven Gas 6 or 200C till as browned as you like them.

Sadly, I have eaten too well, as suspected, and I'm up again 1.5lb. I really need to take some time out to plan better, stop buying stuff allegedly for OH and DGD that just tempts me, especially anything involving chocolate! I also need to look at exercise as the swimming I did on holiday clearly had a benefit. All in the planning isn't it?

    Today's menu
HEA 1 - milk in drinks
    B Bran crunch (HEB) strawbs (S) 0% yoghurt (P) Honey (1)
    L Ham (P) with salad (S) Alpen Light (3)
    Snack Hula Hoop Pufts (3.5)
D veggie spaghetti bolognese - veggie mince (P) with passata, onion, grated carrot, peppers, (S) herbs, pasta (F) sprinkle of grated cheese (HEA 2) Fruit for pudding.

    Have a good weekend

Definitely! Planning and Speed are the two main ingredients of SW IMO. :)

If you have a Sainsburys DIM, then their mayo is half a syn. I'll check but I think it's the BGTY one.

If you like jaffa cakes then Aldi do jaffa cake Benefit bars which are 3 syns each or 2 for a HEB.

Change of plan tonight as I'm going to keep the stir fry veg for tomorrow. I'm going to to try stuffed peppers to go with the gammon.

We all make chips differently. :D I parboil mine for 5 minutes then spread on one of those mesh net type trays. Maris Piper are my preferred potatoes. Usually I cool them then spray with frylight. I put the tray directly on the oven shelf. Depending on what temperature I have the oven they take about 30 minutes and I turn the tray round half way through cooking. :)

It is possible to freeze after parboiling and spraying. :)

Yep, lo potato hash is defo something I will be having in the future. Only really works when I am at home though, but can save it for the weekend.

Dinner was nice, but not something wow! It was baked cod which I put lemon juice and garlic granules on and wrapped in foil. Took longer than I thought to cook. Usually I have salmon, but the cod was reduced, so thought I'd try it. Is all fish free or is it just white fish?

I have some leftover which I am not sure what to do with for tomorrow.

The sauce for my pasta was nice. Could have done with a handful of cheese in there too, but definitely better than just plain pasta. Would have it again.

Best part was my carrots. I decided to roast them. Please don't say this is a tweak because I didn't boil them!

My girls have gone to their dad's and the prosecco is open. You have to have a few treats! And I am limiting myself to only Friday and Saturday drinking. A bottle is 30, am I right? I know that sounds a lot, but it goes fairly quickly while sat in front of the telly.

Before my girls went, my youngest came downstairs and could smell food. She said, “I am sad mummy because you are cooking pizza.” I was like, “Nope, that is carrots you can smell.” And she went, “Oh I'm not sad, bye mummy!” Just shows though, that really was my quick go to meal when they left for the evening!

And finally, quick question. How many sprays of Frylight is “acceptable?” As in how many sprays would equal a teaspoon, haha?! I was quite liberal with it today!
