Finishing the day strong...and planning tomorrow. Original menu plan took me to about 14 Syns which is fine but I will probably be wanting a drink!

    Planning:
B- porridge, rasbs, banana, choc spread (5)
L- LO salmon and rice with veg (2)
D- chicken skewers with rice or chips, salad

Hope everyone is having a nice weekend!

Get yourself to TKMaxx trixie and buy some skinny syrup for your porage. I'd have to really love chocolate spread to [STRIKE]waste [/STRIKE] use 5 syns for it.
  • That’s my problem maman, I really do love it!!! Haha. But you’re right, I do need to mix it up. Usually I have eggs for brekkie but I’m stuck on a porridge cycle at the minute- it’s handy and filling for my summer job.

I also work in a school so I’m thinking I’ll do overnight oats for school days when that starts up.

Trixie make sure you use plenty of yoghurt with the overnight oats otherwise they can be a bit claggy. I also use the skinny syrup that Maman mentioned rather than granulated sweetener.

There are loads of different flavours you can make. If you want to have a look at a load of different variations have a look at https://www.slimmingeats.com website. It's a blog written by a British woman who now lives in Canada but still doing SW even though there aren't any groups where she lives. She has some really good recipes. I use her website quite a bit for ideas.

Haven't checked what we're eating today yet - need to check my plan! - so will come back later with my plan. Still need to pull back about 15 Syns over the week so will probably use them for G&T or Rum & Ginger beer tonight!

Have checked my menu plan and today we'll be having:

B - sausage, egg, beans, tomatoes & mushrooms
L - mushroom, pepper & spring onion omelette
    D - salmon & ginger parcels & rice

    HEA - milk
    HEB - none planned
Syns - sausages 2; G&Ts or Rum & Ginger Beer @ 2.5 syns each to try and claw back a few syns!

  • Thinking of you Chris.

Going to have to be so careful as funeral is not for another 10 days:(So many issues which need to be dealt with as he may have had tb, so rules are rules. As in these situations, something always comes out which brings a smile, someone posted a review which had been published about 30 years ago, he was a chef & had a really good restaurant, didn't realise that Jacob Rees-Mogg's father was a regular customer, as was Roy Hattersley! Brought a fit of giggling especially as my aunt didn't recognise herself in the photo!
A smile costs little but creates much :)
