I think June is optomistic. If the lockdown is released then Corvid-19 cases could rise.  It may be eased slightly but I think we are going to have to live with it until there is an effective  widely available and reliable test as to whether you have 'had' it so that you have some immunity.  The when an effective vaccination and vulnerable have been vaccinated maybe life will get back to normal.
    So Christmas?

I don't see how the current lockdown could go on till Christmas without economic and social collapse no matter how much the government tries to pump into the economy. There will be difficult decisions to be made at some point in the next couple of months. One thing we have to consider is that tanking the economy will lead to unnecessary deaths in the future.
Which is why the same old record gets played over and over. It's within our own hands to control the spread and tame the virus. Still people talk about their personal rights and ignore basic instructions.
In Belarus the advice is to work in the countryside, drink voka and go to the sauna.  :s

Never mind Belarus...checkout how Sweden are rockin’.  I put it down to a much more well behaved people....but only time will tell if they have chosen the right route for them.

Keep up the jogging, Seashell, it keeps the body and mind well.  Not that I have ever jogged.....my fun is volleyball, f that is way harder in this lockdown!
    Plan for tomorrow, enjoy today!

I will, for as long as possible, even if it's raining!!  (as that would mean even fewer people out and about)   In the spring I'd usually start ramping up my distances, getting up to 8 miles or so, but I'm keeping it at about 5-6 at the moment, which takes approx. an hour.   Also my routes are somewhat limited, as I can only run "away" from the village, as to go the other way means heading towards town.

We're venturing out for our weekly Aldi shop again this morning....the only place we've been (other than walking/running) for the last 2 weeks.  Hopefully it'll be nice and quiet like last week.
How's it going, AKA, Nutwatch? - 12 month spends to date = 2.60% of current retirement "pot" (as at end May 2025)

    A quiet ALDI?
Ones I passed last week were queuing in the car park: I went with a Spar and tiny Tesco: they were both empty, and had enough stock/choice for us in these times😂.
Dreading the need to properly shop, the big stores are mayhem up here.  Time to run down the freezer stocks!

We discovered some frozen cake the other day.  Result!    Also running, choosing the quietest routes at the least popular times.  Big  issue we can see on the horizon is as in-house alcohol stocks run down, we will be left with the cupboard with that strange collection of holiday liqueurs..... Good luck all!

We hosted a party at new year so are working our way through the random selection of beers that people didn't manage to drink.
Ocado is coming tomorrow so we shouldn't need anything more than milk, berries and maybe bread for a while. Ocado even had bread flour so we could get baking and not even need to buy bread. Daughter made cookie dough yesterday which is to eat 'as is' - you can't even bake it to make cookies which is weird. I hate to think what is in it! She co-cooked with her best friend over FaceTime.

We did a Bodega tour before we had to head home, so we've plenty of Pedro Ximenez that we now can't give to friends and family. Also we visited the Carrefour at Cite Europe, before we boarded the train. So we're good till our next trip, hopefully in September.

Very quiet again.   They even had loo roll, uht milk this week too!!!

The isles aren't 2 metres wide though, so a bit awkward as not everyone shops in the same order/direction ... then you realise there is no frozen sweetcorn, so go back for tinned!!!

All in all it felt "safe"... whatever that means these days.

I do like a bit of PX. Our local restaurant of choice does PX & raisin ice cream (with more PX poured over).
