Observations on the differences in the Covid-19 parallel universe:

    - energy company kindly advised today that they want to increase my monthly DD buy 40%!

    - cancellation of supermarket multi-buys and stock shortages have increased grocery bill by at least 25%.

Anyone else notice an immediate increase in personal inflation?

On the contrary, got an email this week saying my gas tariff is going down by 4.6%.
What bothers me in our new Covid-19 police state is that many people on low or fragile incomes are going to be shafted while we carry out this great economy collapse experiment.

No experiment. This is a recession. High incomes aren't immune. If anything further to fall.

Let's hope it's only a recession. Government rescue package or not, the country can't have lockdown for a prolonged period without severe consequences.

Eighth major events since WW2. This is by far the worst.
  • New world order coming, or at least a significant redistribution of power?
Who's going to buy up failed companies?
Highlights the need for nations to be more self sufficient.
The longer it goes on the more chance we'll have of creating a kinder more caring society.

Mr Straw described whiplash as "not so much an injury, more a profitable invention of the human imagination—undiagnosable except by third-rate doctors in the pay of the claims management companies or personal injury lawyers"

I was thinking quite the opposite, wealth and power will be more concentrated at the top, as more people are sucked down into austerity.
In the last week we have willingly given up our freedom, and are now a police state.
I "thank" all those people who thought they were exceptions to the rule, and carried on as normal, allowing this government to push it's Emergency powers bill through Parliament.
Let's hope Boris isn't as good as his word, and the whole bill is rescinded after this crisis is over.
    Winner winner, Chicken dinner.

China's influence has been growing incrementantly for decades. The One Belt One Road initiative , the opening up of the historic Silk Road routes.

No one. Asset strip. Buy the bits and pieces that are wanted. Leave the rest.

Maybe a game changer when combined with the clamour to halt climate change. Hopefully there'll be entreprenuers will identify opportunties to start new UK businessess.

Events now will influence a generation. What you experience in your formative years. Stays with you for life.
