New Washing Machine in, I now have clean pants!!!!
In other "rock and roll" news, we popped to Waitrose friday for a 4 pinter of milk and came out with.....a 4 pinter of milk, and nothing else. We didn't NEED anything else, so we didn't buy anything else. Tunnel vision, go in, get what you went for, pay and leave. Although I do usually go "ooh, look, yummy things" and then realise DH is off and already at the till !!
I'll save my "ooh, look...." for todays Aldi shop!!!How's it going, AKA, Nutwatch? - 12 month spends to date = 2.60% of current retirement "pot" (as at end May 2025)1 -
Have registered for ParkRun, as I've not done any before (we have a new race nearer us), so hopefully I'll do one this Saturday.
Be interesting to see how slow I am, as my PB for 5k is 25m15s, but that was over 10 years ago!!!
If nothing else, it'll give me a benchmark to work with.
Just lounging in the conservatory, with a glass of Merlot at the mo, on a Tuesday!!!... feeling sleepy after nice big Spag Bol...but that washing up won't do itself!!!How's it going, AKA, Nutwatch? - 12 month spends to date = 2.60% of current retirement "pot" (as at end May 2025)0 -
A 4 pint of milk in Waitrose is supposed to cost £1.15. A bit expensive on a money saving site.0

That is not slow - my PB for ParkRun is 32m1s and that was over 10 years ago. My PB this decade is 36min dead on.
I joined a running club in January and everyone in my group (pretty much the whole club really) is way better than me but I just keep plodding round. I did a timed 400m at the end of my induction session and it was 2min 20s - last week my watch tells me I managed 2min dead for 400m so that is a measurable improvement, but still a pretty big number. Well done on that. I practise that myself. I have discovered though the best way of guaranteeing I limit myself to just what I came in for is to go to our local waitrose on my e bike rather than the car as the pannier will only hold a certain amount. I only use Waitrose as that is the only place near us which does lactose free milk, yogurts and cheese for my DH and DGD1. They do loads of yummy things though as you say.

I love our local Park Run, do it every week. Not admitting I am slow, though my running partner is 25 years older than me (he's 78) and we chat about our week all the way around:) I have tried to improve my PB in the past, but hate the heart beating out of my chest sensation and much prefer my social runs with him.
Fab bunch of volunteers whom I go for a coffee with every week, really good for the soul and good start to my weekend.
Hope you enjoy your Park Run, be careful they are addictive.Money SPENDING Expert0 -
I quite enjoy pushing myself to lung busting effort. Mad, I know!!
This morning's run included 8 x 2m15s max efforts, with equal recovery round a local undulating (hilly!!) park.
You know you've worked hard if you feel sick at the end!!! _pale_
Luckily the ParkRun course is flat!!:THow's it going, AKA, Nutwatch? - 12 month spends to date = 2.60% of current retirement "pot" (as at end May 2025)0
