  • While I haven't read all 44 pages of this thread, all I can say is that when I rang up Sky to cancel my sub, they offered me Sky+ for £50. After I told them I wasn't interested and still wanted to cancel, they offered me Sky+ for free, with no minimum-term contract obligation.

I took the deal, and I highly recommend using the same tactic even if you're not serious about quitting! :)

Worked for you, didn't for me - and I've had the full package for 9 years. Crazy! I live just north of London, this must a be a factor (dunno why).

Just got Sky+ for £49 plus free installation. I to have had full package for over 9 years. It took three phonecalls. I think it just depends who you get on the other end, I was on the verge of giving up.

You would think Sky would do better deals for long term customers! I got Sky + free, installation £30 on the day and Im a new customer never been with Sky before.
Finally, I can see you crystal clear
  • I was told by a very rude young lady last night that the incentives offered are only for New Customers, after all when you joined you were given incentives so what are you moaning at. I told her that when I joined there was no such things as Broadband, Multiroom etc we just had the box and that was it. They seem to work in the same way as the Banks ,throw everything at the new customers blow the rest.

I seem to be getting nowhere with Sky - just spoke to one of the team at the Scottish call centre and they wont budge on the £99 for a Sky+ box and £60 instillation cost.

Ive said we will consider leaving after trying to get a cheaper deal and they wont budge:confused: I do not want to get Sky cut off!

Anyone know how to go about this as really dont want to pay those prices when I know there are deals about:rolleyes:

If you read it as a statement on each line, its a run down of what they did!
If you cant understand it then why do you need to make rude comments, just ignore it and move on!

Thanks to all on this forum for the great advice. Called Sky this morning to try and sort out upgrade to sky+ multiroom but they wouldn't budge from £99 +£60 installation.

So I called the cancellations dept direct and said I wanted to cancel due to working nights etc and was offered sky+ for one off fee of £79 inc. installation, and they would also reinstall our standard box into another room at the same time (maybe should have gone for £49 but was happy with that). Also got a discount on multiroom of £5 for 6 months. They are fitting it on Tuesday so fingers crossed!

    Thanks for everyone's great advice.

Anyone got the best direct UK number to try and number for cancellations dept?

I need to give it another go - really need to get lower than £99 for + box and £60 instillation!
