I'm sorry but I cannot believe that people are still paying for Sky+ boxes. I got Sky HD for £49 installed three months ago and Sky+ 15 months ago for free! When you phone to cancel and they ask why, tell them you work shifts and miss all the programs you want. Works almost more often than not, and even if it doesn't it would only be the waste of a phone call.

The lowest I can find for Sky HD is £129 (box & install) - £75 quidco - £15 online credit = £39. You have to pay the £129 upfront though and wait for the quidco and the credit goes on your first bill.

hi there, just been made redundant this week, took sky out last april, is there anyway that i can cancel my subscription as i have only been with them 8 months, on the sky mix channel and hd which is £27 pound a month, anybody know of a way to get the cost down, thanks for the help in advance

I think the only thing you can do at the moment is ring them and ask them to reduce your package to the absolute basic.

Next, I would write them a letter, advising of your circumstances and asking for compassion. All they can do is say no.

    Best of luck.
  • I managed to get Sky+ for £49 and free installation. My SIL and mum had got it for that price so I insisted I ought to get the same treatment. The first person i spoke to was in india and they kept saying that price wasn't on the system so I couldn't have it, then I spoke to a supervisor who said the same. I then said i wanted to speak to cancellations as I felt I was being treated differently from their other customers. I made out that I was angry but I was not impolite. I got it in the end but the whole phone call lasted nearly half an hour. This was at the beginning of December.

In the sky help centre, under account and billing help. Then fill out the form. Worth a go anyway.

Sorry not really. He only installs sky, he has nothing to do with call centre etc.
My only advice is to read back through the thread, there are some numbers which will put you through to the scots(more helpful) and just to threaten to cancel and see where you get, although a lot of people are saying that they're not offering good deals at the moment. So not sure what they'd offer you really. Sorry not much help.
