Is there any additional monthly fee for Sky+ compared to "normal" Sky? We've already got a twin LNB with the two feeds wired into the lounge, so I shouldn't need an installation visit. If I can get just the Sky+ box on its own for 49 quid (or even for free), and as long as there's no increase in the monthly sub. then I will definitely go for it!!!
  • Thank you guys!!. We have been thinking about sky plus for ages and thanks to all your tips managed to get it freeeeeee!!! Being installed next Tuesday. Used the number in the op and has been said before after a bit of haggling it worked and we are only on the basic package of £21 no sport or movies and deffo no speak and surf as we can't receive it in our area.
    Thanks again
    regards

OH phoned Sky this morning on the number in the OP to "cancel" and was offered Sky+ for free with free installation almost straight away, She was told its £149 + installation of £30 usually but "Today we can arrange that for free"

    Nice!

    Thanks OP

this would be good for my parents but i know they will want me to phone. what details am i likely to be asked for?

Even if i can get it down to £49 it would be a great xmas present for them.

  • Ive been with Sky for a few years & really wanted Sky+ but couldnt really afford it & needed to cut down on the monthly fee too. Then the VCR packed up so thought about BT Vision at £30 for self instal V-Box & cheaper packages plus PAYG. Didnt really want to change over but rang Sky to ask how to cancel & was offered Sky+ for £49. Told them I still couldnt afford it & was then offered it for free, even though I reduced my viewing package at the same time. Since my hubby was considering getting me Sky+ for Xmas Im well chuffed - though why they make loyal customers go through this rigmarole beats me!

Well i tried but as the account is in my dad's name and i am not a man they wouldn't speak to me reagrding the account so will have to get my brother to try :D not gonna give up on a freebie that easily.

My dad has got all the channels and wants to get rid of the pointless movies channels. At what point should this be discussed? If my brother phones up and says he wants to cancel and they offer the sky+ can we get the movies knocked off later or does a new 12 month contract mean that you are tied into that particular package?

sorry have always just handed my money over to them in return for rubbish customer services :rotfl: .

Just to be completely cheeky does anyone know of any deals being offered for people that already have sky+ such as free multi-room? worth an ask isn't it!! :p
  • I just rang sky to ask when my sub ends as I want to cancel and they said march, she said do you want me to tranfer you to cancellations and I said yes. He said you want to cancel and I said yes but my sub ends in march so he said ring up 30 days before sub ends:rolleyes: No offer of sky+ for £49 or free:mad:

I reduced my package at the same time as being offered Sky+ for free. The package had changed over by the following morning, all my movies have now gone! Sky+ comes on Monday...
