I think with 20 posts now under your (new) belt, you should be able to post live links. Under the old forum arrangements, 15 posts seemed to be the tipping point.
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Is this the real Johnersh though...the jury is out for me so far.

If it is you Johnersh, sorry to doubt you but using the same avatar and appearing (coincidentally) just a day after a link in a reply had shown us regulars (and lurkers) that you were 'no longer a registered user' was not necessarily all I needed to reassure me that you are 'you'!

Didn't know that. That is an unfortunate coincidence, isn't it? If your DM is open to me (I assume it's still generally bolted shut), I'm happy to liaise to leave you in no doubt as to who I am.
I'm no criminal so I'd hate to have the jury out on anything  ;)  :p

Hi everyone, please give me some advice!

I had a court hearing in January 2020 with some new evidence. The court ordered that I should write another witness statement and file it within 2 weeks. The Claimant was given three weeks to write a statement too if they wished to do so.  I wrote it and sent a copy to the court and to the Claimant within the time limit. The Claimant sent theirs 6 weeks later! And they argued that because of the new evidence they needed time to draft their new statement.

The court then sent me a hearing date - which is in a couple of weeks. A few weeks ago I sent the court an email asking for the case to be adjourned for several reasons. I didn't get a response but today I have received a Judgement Order asking me to pay nearly £4000 because they did not receive the witness statement!

Of course I will email and tell them I have sent it but any comments from you would be greatly appreciated.
