Went on a rare day out with OH today on a boat trip with the Old Plymouth Society up the Tamar, around the Sound, into the Royal William Yard and then Millbay, and finally up the Cattewater. The Maritime Heritage Officer is retiring next year and he did a two hour nonstop talk throughout the trip all off the top of his head. Amazing man, brilliant trip.
I've cooked more chicken for Layla for her first proper training sessio tomorrow morning, cleaned the sanitary ware in the bathroom, rearranged a dental appointment for an extraction (boo!) and printed off the minutes for delivery now that the Chair has finalised them. I'm drop them off on this evening's dog walk.Better is good enough.0 -
Not achieving as much today as I had hoped. I’ve just pegged the second load of washing outside, with one eye on the weather.
I had a pleasant, if expensive, day out with DD. Since we came home she has wanted to float in and out of rooms and chat, which is nice so I haven’t discouraged her. She is also at a loss now that she isn’t revising continuously. We have planned a day out for next week to see an art exhibition that she has wanted to get to.
Apart from that, very little flying. I am going to sort a drawer in the bedroom as it’s a tip, then I need to start some bread off - another rash promise I made to DD that I now have to do.
It’s just getting darker outside so I’m playing will-it-won’t-it with the washing.0 -
Evening all.
Just popping in quick to cross off my list. I'm going to go have a quick shower and then sort tea out. I need to be in bed by 10pm tonight or I have no chance of getting up tomorrow morning. Ex will be here around 11am so I want to be ready by 10am therefore giving myself an hour buffer in case I'm having a bad day tomorrow morning.
I've spent the afternoon clearing up my work stuff that was mainly just dumped the last few months. It was mainly roughly filing paperwork for the last financial year. I'm pretty good at keeping stuff together, but I needed to move it over into the proper accordion files ready for the mass purge/filing session that I do when I'm doing my taxes. I keep everything on paper and then put it on the computer in my accounts paperwork periodically when I remember or have a mad dash at the end of the financial year to get everything sorted lol It means I get to triple check I've covered everything in my accounts when I first file them, then as I break the invoices down and then when I double check stuff. It takes time, but I've made mistakes in the past so doing it this way I know I am at least 99.9% correct.I'll get stuck into the random papers that need to be filed properly next week around work. I need a calender and at least 3 invoices in front of me, plus my stock box to make sure I get things filed in the right place. That's just too much to do this week with a 3pm Thursday deadline to meet for this weeks work.
DS is going away on the 15th for a week so I'm hoping to get my tax return done then, as well as renewals and any phone calls etc I need to make. I'm also hoping to be more informed of other medical appointments and when workmen are coming to do jobs by then.
So here's my list that will be added to on Thursday. I'm not attempting anything tomorrow, 2+ hours each way in the car with DS & ex is going to wear me out as well as the appointment in between. I don't think I've spent that much time with both of them at the same time since I last went to stay with ex's family in 2008 before we split. Don't get me wrong, me and ex get on fine, but we rarely spend more than 2-3 hours together at the schools Carol or summer concerts, and whenever he's been here to see DS when they couldn't go out, I've tended to head off upstairs or out and left them to it. Or when we've had "family meetings" about university, etc, it's never been more than 2 hoursThis is going to be very strange. Last time I was on a motorway I think I was with ex coming home from DS breaking his knee which was 7 years ago...my anxiety is going to be through the roof!! I just hope I don't get car sick.

Nicki. is that GIS in Leeds? it is an @rse to get too .. it is not signposted at all and we got utterly lost! as you drive into the car park it is the first right turn .. past the car park and go right round to the very back of all the buildings.. it feels like you have gone the wrong way it is so far round.. and there is a gravelled car park on the right just past the building you need to be in. If that is any use at all!!??
Trying to catch up on washing when it is pouring with rain.. it's like pouring petrol on a burning bush!
3 appointments down this week.. 2 to go and one (for me) I am supposed to book and just cannot be bothered.. waste of time even trying with my gp surgery.. I don't have time at 8am and they've all gone by 8;30 by the time I do. It's only so they can tell me what I alreaedy know.. boring stuff!! Why they can't just change a prescription or ring me to discuss it is beyond me.. that has to be easier!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
Pigpen - Thank you! Yes it's Leeds for us for the initial screening appointment as DS won't do phonecalls. Ex has apparently sorted out directions and is planning on us getting there at 1.15 when DS's appointment isn't until 2pm. I've screen shot your instructions to refer to when we get there as we'll probably still get lost and he said the car park was miles away from the clinic :rotfl: :rotfl:
Earlier I said I was going for a shower and to bed by 10pm...neither has happened but at least we had a good tea (ordered take-out as could face pasta again or cooking chicken at 8.30!) and I think I have nearly all my stuff is sorted for tomorrow morning, the dogs treats are sorted ready to go just before we leave and that's the important part, so I'm off to let the dog out and then to bed. Glad I didn't strip it earlier like I was going to, I guess I knew I'd not be getting showered today:rotfl: Night all

Morning all. Hope you're all ok today.
After my first shift I need to pop in to town but I'll get what I can done from the list.
Have a great day everyone.Spend less now, work less later.0 -
Morning all
Didn’t get to post again yesterday as the day turned to chaos! Managed my calls and emails from the list but that was pretty much it. Ended up working until quite late.
Have woken this morning with a bad headache and a raging sore throat, not good at all. Have had hot lemon and now have tea, hoping to at least ease everything so that I can get on with the day. Work is likely to be busy again so I am not even going to think about the flying until I have checked emails etc to see what awaits.
Will shower and dress next and then switch the laptop on.
Hope to be back later to report some progress on the flying front!0 -
Morning all,
Not much to say other than my anxiety is at its peak and I feel so tearful. Need some time for headspace but work, home, studies etc not allowing any time. Flying has taken a back seat this week x0 -
Morning all
((Hugs)) ASB.
Posivibes, Nicki.
Stripped the bed so that will get washed when DH gets home this afternoon. I’ve just seen off the small ironing pile so now it’s a dash about before going to work via the f&v market. Every week I am tempted not to bother as it’s a bit of a detour and a hassle but the quality is good and I feel at least I’m trying to support local shops. Plus we get through fruit at a rate of knots.
Best go and get ready then *sigh*.
Have a lovely day all.0 -
(((Hugs))) asb.
You too, Nicki and Badcat.
I think I have strained an intercostal muscle with coughing
Off to a committee meeting today, which involves a 2-hour journey each way - fortunately I am planning to go by train rather than having to drive.
Some admin work completed since 5.30 this morning. DH is coughing badly, and we are both tired because of lack of sleep. I am not planning on doing anything this evening as tomorrow will be a very busy day (Toddlers etc)0
