  • Hi All
I asked the lodger if she'd had a nice time on Saturday when she went out with one of her uncles, & she said 'not really'. I enquired further & it seems she thinks that being an escort means just going on a date. I asked about the money she gets paid & tried to explain that the money is really for 'extras' unfortunately as she is a teacher she knows everything & I know nothing, so I was unable to persuade her. Still I expect she'll give it up after a few more 'dates'. I've done a lot of things to earn money but Ive never been an escort, though I did get a free trip to Ladies Day at Ascot once, more about that some other time.
I bought 3 lovely matching casserole dishes from my local charity shop, so I will use them in my 'Have a night off' boxes that I'm giving my kids for christmas.

Hester, I wonder what the reaction was when Peggy-Sue asked for a glass of wine.....I can just imagine her pointing to a pint glass saying...."I want one of those glasses" :rotfl:

Is she not putting her job at risk by going out with her 'uncles'
I know it's not really your problem and no doubt she wouldn't believe you anyway.

Google Escorts - I think she may have more idea by reading some of the Sites! Alternatively explain is words she cannot mis-understand.

    Hi all

Had a really busy day at work. Had a National Geographical Society thing for Geography teachers - had folk from Shetland to the Borders. A beautiful buffet and other good catering and tutor back off to London on the train saying he has never had so much positive feedback! He was full of praise for our catering, our IT guys (fab) and the facilities I had done! Top marks for our Council I think!

Spoke to DH today and Nursery photo of the three boys not good yesterday. Am fixing up a photographer for the Christmas photos. DGS2 still relying on inhaler but not too bad.

Love and hugs to you all, thinking about those having problems.

Am just about to go over to the DIY thread to post questions about my kitchen - any input very welcome!!!!

    Love

    Evening all,

Had a particularly bad day today. Couldn't even be bothered to get out of bed this morning. So, suffice to say, nothing OS has been done today.

I have an interview on Friday for a job that I would actually really like, so will drop my CV round there tomorrow. Also got to ring a few more places tomorrow.

There has been an extremely vicious rumour spread around my old workplace about OH and I, so he is looking for another job. Am not too worried as he is *very* employable - he is going to see someone tomorrow. I am quite upset though, because it has ruined a very good friendship I had with someone there.

Dinner is Mac N Cheese out of the freezer with garlic bread.

Hope you all had a good day.

I would love to be a fly on the wall when or if you decide to "be blunt" and tell the lodger "precisely" what her uncles have been expecting from her.

Although hysterically funny in one way - it is very scary in another as I have visions of the police being called for her safety if things get pushy on a date and then you getting mixed up in all the unpleasantness.

Would the head teacher be sympathetic enough to have a quiet word with her about the danger and unsuitabliity of this - or would the fat be in the fire?

Had a quiet day and got some washing done but rained all day so had to put stuff on radiators.

Made mashed potato, sausages in gravy and carrot batons in cheese sauce for tea which seems to have been popular.

So pleased I am nearly in tears as DD(22) has just been offered a job at her first proper interview!:j :j :j :j

It is in an area that uses her degree and that really interests her so we are delighted. Only snag is that it is in Oxford so is a bit far away from home.

Fingers crossed that references etc got through all right as she is so keen on this.

Going to Newcastle tomorrow to see DD(18) who is at uni there and give her a lift home for a day or two so she can see her sisters and catch up on home news.

Her sisters are not impressed that she is going as far away as Oxford and will not be got round by pointing out that others in her year have gone as far as Hong Kong, Japan or America.
