Hi, this is the Daily Thread for today. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Morning. Hope you are all well.
I woke up my usual early time, but at least I get time to use the computer before the mad rush of the day.
Not too much of a rush as I am day off though... I will spend most of the day at the school as part of the interview panel for a new head teacher, They are feeding me at lunchtime, so can't be bad.
I am planning on making Worrall Thompsons sausage and cabbage casserole if I can find the recipe. I printed it off once and now can't find it..
Anyway, have a nice day.....

Yesterday at wo*k...ugh, I was so not in the mood... By the end of it I had a massive thumping headache, had a kip when I got home, head was still spinning at 7.00 pm. It's better now as I've visited the medicine cabinet, but I think it must have been the noise and sitting in artifical light for so long. Aw well, I knew I wasn't going to have a good Monday. I thought perhaps I was taking flu, but the aches and pains seem to have shifted now, so maybe not.
VickyA - hope you are feeling better, and that your voice is making a return. It's one of those things we all take for granted, then don't realise how much we actually need until it takes a holiday.
Blairweech - what a shame about your new job. Fingers crossed you find something a bit closer to home soon.
This morning I intend cleaning up the kitchen. I don't know what exactly I was doing yesterday evening, but it looks like the proverbial bomb went off in there. I also need to go and get some cat food. One of my little furbabies will only eat Hill's dry food - as I had run out yesterday I presented them with some "emergency supplies only" wet food, which he turned his little nose up at. He went to bed hungry, poor thing. The other two scoffed his portion of course, so he didn't have the option of a midnight snack. Last time I ran out of his food he almost danced with joy when I came back with a bag of Hill's under my arm.
I hope everyone is well. Have a great Tuesday.

Morning N9eav and all who cross and follow.
Woke up with a sore throat...but I'm sure it will go.
Need to pop into work for an hour or so when I've delivered Miss Twit to school.
Not made any plans for today, as yesterdays got blown out of the water.
Have a good day gang.Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no: 203.0 -
Good morning:D
I wondered if the forums would be back up, pleased to see they are. I'd just finished reading something when they went down last night. I'd not noticed the time so got a bit of a shock:rotfl: :rotfl:
Did a boiled gammon for dinner last night and made a lovely lentil soup from the stock. DH thinks Christmas has come early, homemade soup two days running:rotfl: He's anyones for a bowl of soup:rolleyes:
Going over to see DGS2 after I've been to the gym. He's 1 today. Hard to believe it was a year ago I got the call, just as I was nodding off, to go babysit DGS1.
DS3 has just got in from nightshift so I suppose being a lovely Mum I should go make him a cup of tea:rolleyes:
Speak later,

Morning all,
SNOWY, I always find going back to work really hard too, I much prefer to be at home. Unfortunately have to go in today, but hopefully I won't be as bad as the other two shifts I've just done.
WHATATWIT hope your throat feels better soon.
Today I have lots to do before going to work. Need to continue going through DS bedroom and sort out all the stuff he doesn't play with. We can donate it to the school fair.
Also need to hoover and do some ironing. Still got a cold, so has DS. Puts me off most things like exercise at the mo. Shall make myself some tuna pasta before I go to work.
Bought some gifts online yesterday to support Help the Aged in poorer countries. I got three chickens for £5 each, and sent a child living with thier grandparents to school for a year for £17. You get an e-card for the recipient. Am really pleased to be sending some love this Christmas:xmassmile .
Have a good day all x:A0 -
Morning N9EAV, SNOWY and WHATATWIT. Hope all the sore throats don't lead to anything worse and (((hugs))) to the many poorly ones we have on here lately.
N9EAV - would love the sausage and cabbage casserole recipe, if you ever find it!
Well, I know what my main job is today. I've been sorting out all DH's business paperwork, which I had every intention of finishing yesterday, but we had visitors - right on dinnertime - so the paperwork is still all over my office floor and, as dinner was held up, by the time it was cooked, eaten and cleared up, I didn't feel like carrying o n with the paperwork. So, it's that and the ironing today, and, if there's any spare time, some more Christmas wrapping.
I also need to clean my oven (I love that job even more than ironing!) so I need to drum up some enthusiasm for that - will try and get it done next week.
Oh well, time for a shower, then get DH up and out and make an early start on the paperwork. I shall feel so much better when it's done.
Hope everyone has a good day.

Morning All
Turns out the lodger is working as an escort, so a few words have been said, I can't see it lasting long as she hasn't yet realised that the new uncles will want more than just scintillating conversation!
I had over £100 in my Ebay account so have spent some of it on baby grobags ready for when DGD1 arrives just after Christmas as DD's flat doesn't have central heating.
Off to work soon, & then I need to do loads of backing this evening.
Hope everyone has a good day.
Hugs Hester

Good morning everyone! Not much to say today - off to w*** soon.
One piece of good news - my sister and 2 nieces (who I've not had any contact from since last Christmas   - long story - don't ask) will be coming for Christmas this year :T :j :A :xmastree: :snow_laug :santa2: :xmassmile :rudolf: The Small Penguins are so excited - they haven't stopped talking about it. My sister asked if she could bring *a friend*. I said of course she could, but she wasn't able to elaborate on what sort of friend She's going to ring me later in the week, once the girls have gone to stay with their dad. I'll need to find some stocking fillers for the girls - from the *Yorkshire Elves*
I have some blinds to make - bought the fabric, but can't find the book that I got the pattern from Might have to move to Plan B
Churchmouse - you'll need to stop making soup - don't want DH to be *anybody's*
Hugs to everyone feeling poorly.
Have a great day, Penny. x:rudolf: Sheep, pigs, hens and bees on our Teesdale smallholding :rudolf:0 -

Hester, your lodger is working as an escort  Have you thought of writing a book about your life, it's better than Eastenders
Dark and cold again, roll on Summer. I used to love Winter, but obviously my old bones feel the cold more now.
Another day of sorting and Ebaying, oh what an exciting life I lead
Hope everyone is OK, hugs to anyone feeling downYou're only young once, but you can be immature forever0 -
morning all,
Not raining here yet but oh has got the day off as it is supposed to be pouring later .
Dd is cross that she still has to go to school, Lots of tiding to do today, and maybe a wash load, will have to dry indoors though.
My mum is 70  today, she really does not look it, so will pop in and see her later.
Roast turkey and the trimmings tonight, they had crowns for £2 in sainsbugs, should be plenty for the three of us.
Sat and wrote my xmas cards last night, not my favourite job, so glad thats out the way.
Will try and do some wrapping today, but with OH off helping , might not get as much done. Also I still have seven birthdays before xmas  .
Ohhh hester I thought she might be up to something like that, strong words are needed I think.
Hope all those feeling poorly recover soon,
Love to all xx0 -
