  • Morning everyone :hello:

I'm at work so it'll have to be a quickie. ;)

I've had a productive few days. No coincidence that OH has been away for 2 of them. :D

I've made big inroads on my preserve making. Now have jars of Pickled onion, piccalilli, tomato chutney, strawberry and blueberry jam, apple and blackberry jam and lemon curd. :D I only stopped cos I ran out of jars. :o

Have been keeping up with the housework too and preparing for my Dad and Stepmum visiting on Thursday.

Tea tonight is chicken curry for OH and myself and spag bol for the girlies. (both from the freezer) Then I need to do some sewing in the evening.

Penny....I'm so pleased about your sister
Catz....That's good news about the washing machine.
Mrs Mix, whatatwit and Essex Girl and Essex Boy......Feel better soon.
Redruby....Hope your mum has a lovely day.
Aussie....You told me you left the nurses uniform in the loft with the Schoolmistress one. ;):p:D

    Take care all

    Morning everyone :hello:

My voice is still having a well earned rest. I was made to feel a bit rotten when I phoned work yesterday to say that I'd been signed off until Thursday. It doesn't help that the school has got Ofsted in today and tomorrow. However, it wouldn't have helped either if I'd started a lesson and couldn't finish it because of my voice..... I spoke to a friend last night on the phone and my voice was cracking after just 15 mins. I appreciate the pressure that the head must be under.

On the plus side, I've just finished the last Harry Potter book AT LAST! :p All very satisfactory in the end. I've got to try to decide which book I'm going to read next.

I've also done my first ever order on tesco.com. Normally I'd pop in and do the shop, but as it's more than likely that I'd get spotted by parents and/or children from the school then I think it's best that I lay low. Because I'm in all day for the next few days, I could choose one of the cheaper delivery slots. ;) I also found a £5 voucher, which I admit did entice me!!! Fingers crossed it goes ok.

Right, I've got to dry my hair before popping out to pick up a parcel. Ironing to do as well.

Morning, just a quick one but will do better tomorrow honest! Have been trying(and failing!) to get sorted out. House still a tip, freezer still full of ice (and very little else:o ) DH ok, been keeping vets rich:eek: one THE CAT NOT THE VET!!!)developed an abcess and has had it drained, she is ok now. Fergal (Livvys the avatars brother) has been having various tests as he is VERY skinny. Anyway, his tests have all come back ok, he is very highly strung and the vet thinks he just burns up a lot of calories. However added to this they have found he has a smaller than averige(SP) tum(not even attempting that other word-NEVER have been able to spell that:rotfl: ) so have to feed him little and often as well as his normal diet. So I have been known to be downstairs at ungodly hours with tiny bits of cat meat(they normally have a dried diet and Royal Cannin baby cat) aw well. Sorry to be so boring. Have "stuff "to moan about (lucky you) but not today. Will go and clear about 20million freecycle postings and go and see my facebook page. Its frightning just how quickly things mount up when you are off line for a bit. Today is not a great day for me i lost someone very special 10 years ago today. Will go and read all of your news now. I have really missed you all and hope that everyone is safe, happy, warm and well. Love to you all. Your friend Ann xxxx
Blind as you run...aware you were staring at the sun.

  • Morning all.

Just a quick post as I'm at w**k, looking busy...
I'm sat here on my own today, so trying to resist the temptation to go home early. Don't think it would be appreciated if they found out..

Have read the thread but my heads is full of cotton wool today, so I'll just say Hugs to all who want/need them.

DH was up at 2 this morning, bedroom light on and clunking about. He has a colostomy bag and the clip had come off - Oh joy - so was trying to sort that out and clear up the mess. (Hope nobody is eating as they read this. Sorry!)

I developed a sore throat last night after one of the girls came to work with a bit of a cold yesterday. Am now dosed up on lemsip and strepsils in an attempt to get rid of it before it develops properly. Also going to start taking my elderberry tincture every day to ward off the rest of the seasons lurgies.

I'm one of those people who needs a solid 8 hours sleep, so suffering a bit this morning. Still, at least I haven't any colleagues here to witness it and laugh.

Tonights plan of action is to get the house back in order. DH is hopefully finishing off the living room painting today, and we did the kitchen last week. We have double glazing being fit on Friday, so need to make sure all the windows are clear and haven't got piles of boxes in front of them. Tea will be whatever DH makes - probably cauli cheese grills, chips and veg.

    Have a good day all

    Good Morning everyone!

Don't seem to be able to use the smileys today for some reason - maybe tomorrow eh!

((((HUGS)))) to all who are ill or unhappy.

MIL is still in hosp in Ashford - we had thought she'd be moved to KCH by now but I suppose there are no beds. We should be able to visit her at the weekend, though I'm a bit reluctant in case DD goes into labour and I'm needed to babysit DGS. The baby's not officially due until 15th Dec but she is feeling very uncomfortable and queasy, and it looked to me yesterday as if her bump was a lot lower so maybe it'll be early. She's looking after her friend's (thankfully very placid) 19mo this afternoon while his Mum takes his big sis for a swimming lesson, but the pool is right near her friend's house and it's only a half-hour lesson.

DH has gone to college today as LSA to our son-in-law so it feels really strange knowing he's out all day - he only started after half-term, so I'm not used to it yet. It does seem to be a lot easier to get things done while he's out though!

Trying to decide what to have for dinner tonight - it wouldn't be a problem if it was just me and DH, but DS will be here as well and I really don't want to have to cook 2 different things. Off now for another rummage through the freezer - hope everyone has a good afternoon.

    Best wishes

    ivyleaf xx

Ivy leaf...I hope your DD manages to hold on until her due date.

    ;) I am not Haribo....I am Haribo's evil twin. :D

Haribo is very concientiously sitting with her nose to the grindstone so don't believe anyone who tells you that she is using her OH's absence from the office to sit at his desk and twirl round and round in his chair, posting on MSE and eating [STRIKE](mcVities)[/STRIKE] Twinks' hobnobs.

It's just malicious gossip and you'd do well to ignore it. :D

Love from Haribelle. (and there's a prize for the first one to say "Oh God, Not 2 of them). :o
