A top bod from Shell Retail Energy was interviewed on You and Yours (Radio 4), just now. It confirmed my feeling they are making sure they can walk before they run. They've taken on 50 extra staff immediately and are working on increasing that to 120 in the near future. I think we are in competent hands.

Good to know. Hopefully them trying to switch me back was just a case of being caught up in the wrong process. I had had a reassuring exchange  with Shell on 8th October that no attempt would be made to switch me back to them. Shell's staff on social media have been very quick and responsive.

I have a feeling that SHELL are already in a mess.

Or are perhaps proceeding carefully? AFAIK this is the first time Shell has been appointed SoLR, so I'd rather they did it right, rather than rush and make a mess of it.
Shell were formerly First Utility who were appointed SOLR for Usio in October 2018; took them 6 months to sort out my bill after I'd stayed with them for as short a time as possible (~ 6 weeks) - and even then they got it wrong (in my favour!!)

My direct debit payment with Green Energy is due in a few days time and I am around £80 in credit. Should I cancel the Green Energy direct debit mandate through my bank?
  • Shell has also been appointed to take on Pure Planet as well, apparently. Another big chunk of orphan customers chasing credits, no doubt.

And daligas and Colorado. Some of the bigger companies have opted out of bidding for any more solr places. With four new companies absorbed shell will have a few more customers . 609,000 to be exact . 350,000 green. 235,000 pure planet. 15,000 Colorado and 9000 daligas
  • Ideally, all Green final accounts and credit balances will be resolved by the time of the next cap review in April 2022.

I have every confidence...Ofgem is relaxed about it, but like the State, does not seem to have any concept of bill payment and cash flow. 'What's your problem, you'll get it eventually?''Yes, but I might like to eat in the interim.'
