The advice was for not cancelling the DD as Shell will amend it and take it over, fine; our DD came out at the start of the month so I was concerned as the amount taken was not updated on the Green site, however it did appear about 5 days later; best plan as always is to take screenshots so you can prove the credit owed. Not heard anything yet since Shell said they took over the account on 27th September (which is when Green wanted us to update the meter readings).Just goes to prove best plan in future is to keep your credit amount as low as you can get away with in case the supplier goes bust. There will be a lot more smaller suppliers going bust soon; when there isn't much wind we rely on up to 50% gas to make electricity. Given the situation of Green going bust, i'm not unhappy with it being Shell compared to some of the "big 6".0

I've had a request from Green asking for an up to date meter reading yesterday. Do I send the meter reading as at the 28th when She'll took over, or submit today's meter reading? I have £80 credit with Green and I don't want a big first bill from Shell. Will my credit automatically transfer to Shell straight away?0

I just submit readings, whenever asked, by either supplier. Eventually a reading will be agreed as the handover figure - most likely the day the old supplier ceased trading - but any evidence of usage trends will help establish a figure that can be agreed by both sides (or 4 sides in my case, as I managed to switch to a supplier who subsequently went bust)Always photograph the meter when you submit a reading, just in case an unsatisfactory figure is arrived at. If you've always submitted regular readings you are less likely to have problems.1

Anyone else that initiated a switch away from GREEN before they went bust- keep an eye on your emails. My switch to Sainsbury Energy completed on 2nd October and now Shell Energy are trying to switch me back. I asked Sainsbury Energy to object/cancel the switch back to Green/Shell.

My switch to Neon reef completed 28th Sept. Final read entered on to both supplier accounts & new account set up OK with NR.
Owed around £300 refund from Green, no contact from them (as I'd expected), or Shell as yet. Presume customers in this scenario will be the last to be contacted? Possibly months down the line?0 -

Took a couple of months to get my credit returned when I was in a similar situation with Yorkshire/Scottish Power. I suspect it may take even longer, now, with sheer number of transfers taking place.

I switched away to Ovo, 2 year fix dual, started before Green went under, completed 26/09 after they went under. Its all gone through, no notifications or emails from Green or Shell. Got only about £65 of credit with Green but my last bill will be about £67 so maybe they won't even bother trying to square it all up.

I have a feeling that SHELL are already in a mess.

Or are perhaps proceeding carefully? AFAIK this is the first time Shell has been appointed SoLR, so I'd rather they did it right, rather than rush and make a mess of it.
