From 27/9/21 I believe. You should have received an email from Shell.

I received a new bill from green today billing me from 27th August (my last bill date) until 31st August . So it was for quite a small amount. Strange they should bill up to that period as they didn't go bust until 3 weeks after that
  • Managed to switch away from GREEN before they went bust. Started the switch on 15th September. 2nd October switch completed to Sainsbury Energy. 6000 nectar points (£30) showing within 4 days of switch.

"Your switch is officially complete and you're now a Sainsbury's Energy customer. Thank you for joining us.
Important: Your final bill with your old supplier
In our experience, it can take a long time to get your final bill from your old supplier — anything from 8 weeks to 8 months. The good news is you’ve already given us your opening meter reading, which really helps speed things up"

8 months! Thankfully my final balance should be less than £50.

It will be interesting to see how long the opening meter read industry verification process takes and whether this will be affected by the handover from GREEN to Shell.

Talk on other areas of MSE suggesting that there may be a grey area regarding what will be included in the account balance. That is, will the various extras such as Green's 10% offer, other companies' 3% balance interest and referral rewards be honoured by the SoLRs?

I contacted OFGEM about the Green. 10% offer and they were very cagey with me saying they couldn't discuss individual companies' situations. When I changed my query to enquire generically about inflated customer balances caused by promotional activity they still wouldn't give me a straight answer and referred me to their website. They were extremely evasive when I tried to get a straight answer from them. I did this in case Green ran the Green Monday promotion again as I was thinking of putting the £5000 maximum in if it did. This won't happen now of course as Green. have folded but I was very concerned by OFGEM's deliberately vague position on this point.

Anyone else just get a 'Confirmation of your new tariff' email from Green?

We want to let you know about your new tariff. Below is a breakdown of everything you need to know but if you have any questions we are always here to help with any queries you have.

    Your new tariff

    Tariff NameChestnut
    Tariff TypeVariable
     ElectricityGas
    Unit Rate(s) p/kWh20.199900
    Standing Charge p/day26.460000

Quite weird as I left the Chestnut tariff in January.

The best bit is the tagline: Green. 'The supplier of the future' :D

@thelight. Yes I got that email. As you say, amusing. I thought it might be a last gasp from their computer system, but  who knows?

Slightly different scenario but similar in some respects: when Eversmart went bust and Utilita took over I noticed in the final Eversmart bill from Utilita that Eversmart had failed to credit my account with the £20 renewal incentive which was in their t and c (the credit would have been due a few weeks before they went bust). Utilita agreed fo add it to my account once I sent them copy of the t and c showing it was payable.

Yes I got that email. No idea why it claims I'm on oak. I was on Hazelwood variable which was going up October 1 however I agreed a deal with Steven redmayne (coo) to be put onto Newton fixed from October 1. I also got a bill yesterdsy for energy used from August 27th (my last bill) until september 1. I expect my final bill to be from september 1 until september 27th (date of Shell taking over) and i expect to be billed at Hazelwood rates so Oak shouldnt enter into it
  • Shell Energy replying to someone's post on Twitter advising

"I have been advised all rates will be sent to customers today so you will be emailed with this information. The rates will match the price cap but you will be emailed them today"
