Having moving away from Green, I have been able to get a final bill generated and a refund ought to be on it's way to me soon. And from reading the last few pages of this thread and the reviews on TrustPilot, my timing is absolutely perfect.I won't be happy until I've got my refund, even if it is less than half of what my direct debit is.0

Yes, their replies to emails is terrible, you wait over 2 months and then get a reply asking if the query is still relevant after that delay, supposed to have had a load of new staff to respond to emails? Phoning Green is the only real option to get things addressed. Not taking on new customers might be an indication of them going into problems however after reading the article it can also mean they are taking a responsible approach - cost of power is going through the roof and will continue to with the fire yesterday, so therefore any new customers will cost them money rather than making profit, one can argue that is sensible to stop new quotes/customers until the back end of next month when most of the power from the main lines will be back.It might be Green are being sensible to preserve their future or it could be in the coming weeks they fail and this is an indicator of that.Reviews on probably all electricity companies suck however we have to use some supplier from the pile.No-one can be smug about leaving one small supplier to another one as frankly they are all at risk of going bust, the big-six who charge high prices stay around for that reason (although sometimes they sell-up or have other reasons to go (Enron?)).We all take the risk of lower cost and higher chance of them going bust, or high cost and more stable but even the big 6 are pretty shoddy at answering phones and dealing with customer issues. If you relied on Trustpilot reviews for picking an electricity provider you'd not go with anyone, a lot of reviews are from keyboard warriors; you have to take Trustpilot reviews on balance as often when you read between the lines people gripe because they haven't submitted readings properly (monthly) or usage at time of getting a quote (moaning when they need to pay for their actual use), which is usually their fault, however it doesn't stop them blaming others.Query - I submitted my meter readings at the start of the month as usual, however no bill was generated like normal - anyone else had that issue with Green this month?? If so it might be a glitch but if others have not had a bill this month too it might be evidence of impending doom...0

Hopefully we can make it up from other sources.0 -

We've got a new 1GW link to Norway, so we are about even on interconnectors.

I just tried to get a quote . No problems whatsoever I got one. I put in an old postcode I used to live at as I'm currently a customer so pretended to be a new customer. Can anyone else confirm razord post above . I'm sticking with Green. Quite happy with them

Oddly I try now a few minutes later and I get the message mentioned about no new customers may sign up. Weird . However I think it's sensible to stop taking on customers at the moment. This cable fire has sent prices through the roof and they were already at an all time high. Thank goodness I switched onto a fixed tariff a couple of weeks ago as all variable tariffs will probably go up yet again (though svrs cannot increase without another increase in the price cap being Announced after October 1)0

I gather that the old supplier has 5 days to object to a transfer. I'm on day 5 since I applied to Green and neither PfP nor BG have intervened, yet.Fingers, eyes and toes crossed.1

Quite happy with themTheir message about not taking on new customers at the moment is still there so must have been a blip to allow a new quote.Given all these electricity companies are all pretty bad even if start out good, i'm sticking with Green too, hoping they don't go bust. All small electricity companies seem to be in a race to get enough customers to then be bought by a large company and therefore make money for the investors/directors, before they go bust or close if they don't sell. When I spoke to them a few weeks back they said December last year they had 100k customers, now over 300k. I really hope Green don't go to the wall.

But it's rapidly looking like when that fix is up late November, I'll be better off being moved to their standard variable plan so I'm covered by the price cap.0
