On 21 March 2019, I had an urgent call on my mobile whilst driving. I pulled over in what I thought was a safe space. Eastgate Wharf in Lewes. I noticed that it was pay and display, so I returned the call I needed to, did not get out of the car and was around 7 minutes in total and left.
I received a parking charge from ZPPS whoever they may be, for £100! A photo of the car pulling in, but not of it parked and no photo of me. I ignored it.
ZPPS sent me another letter putting the cost up to £180. I ignored it.
I now have a letter dated 3 June from QDR Solicitors, saying that if I fail to pay in full £180 within 14 days, they will hand to Litigation Department and a CCJ will be registered agains me.
Does anyone know if I have a leg to stand on and/or if they are likely to take me to court for this outrageous sum of money?
Also, can they send Bailiffs to take my car? And does the matter have to go to court first? I would definitely go and contest.
Has any one else had a similar experience with these people?
Thank you for any help. Hopefully QDR staff do not have access to this forum!
I am a bit worried now!

plenty of similar threads on this forum and hundreds of people with similar experiences with all of those people
come back if or when you get an N1 court claim from the CCBC in Northampton
only a judge can tell you if you may win or not, in court
of course all these companies have access to this free forum, they tend to read everything too , so edit your post above, the DRIVER blah blah
OPS have 6 years to try a court claim, its all hot air until then (yes it would have to go to court first)
if you lose in court , pay up , IN FULL, within one month (usually) and nothing will happen to any of your property, especially not your vehicle1 -

ZZPS are just money scammers who you ignore. You do not owe £180 ... they have added SCAM money

QDR know they can do nothing of the sort, a 14 day rubbish letter is another debt collector letter.
For QDR to start acting as professionals they MUST fully comply with law and Pre Action Protocol. (PaP)
This means a LETTER BEFORE CLAIM, giving you 30 DAYS to respond and providing proof of their claim/costs. You can rebut their claim with your evidence.
No surprise QDR come out with this rubbish, they are the back street legal of Wright Hassall solicitors who are disgraced
If you receive a real LBC from QDR, come back here and this forum will help you zap them.
QDR are round the bend ...... only a judge can give a CCJ, not a back street money chaser
Also, can they send Bailiffs to take my car? And does the matter have to go to court first? I would definitely go and contest.
Of course not, you have been watching to much soap tv1 -
All the above is smoke and mirrors. Only a properly formulated letter before claim needs to concern you.
Nine times out of ten these tickets are scams so complain to your MP.
Parliament is well aware of the MO of these private parking companies, and on 15th March 2019 a Bill was enacted to curb the excesses of these shysters. Codes of Practice are being drawn up, an independent appeals service will be set up, and access to the DVLA's date base more rigorously policed, persistent offenders denied access to the DVLA database and unable to operate.
Hopefully life will become impossible for the worst of these scammers, but until this is done you should still complain to your MP, citing the new legislation.

Just as the clampers were finally closed down, so hopefully will many of these Private Parking Companies. You never know how far you can go until you go too far.1 -

Please don't ask where it is, if you do then we know you are using a phone...DON'T.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Hello there,
I have done considerable work on my own and enlisted the assistance of a friend who was a solictor. She now recommends going to court and asking for the hearing to be local to me. Obviously I am concerned about my newly repaired credit rating (hit due to difficult circumstances) don't want to go backwards in that respect. All the information on MSE Parking Forums indicate that mediation is not recommended. The detail on the last correspondence said that the mediator will be impartial. Is this not the case? I would in any case only offer the mediator the £1 that I apparently should have paid. Now asking for over £200.
I initially ignored everything. Next I filed a defence online with the court. Now being offered mediation and I have until 27th August to respond.
I have had absolutely no phone contact nor direct correspondence with One Parking, nor their solicitors QDR.
Basic story:
Was waiting for a call about a job
Call came when I was driving
Pulled in at the first safe place (double yellow lines everywhere)
Stopped the car in cul de sac outside (apparantly £1 charge in machine and leased to One Parking Solution Ltd)
Returned the call
Drove off
Total time - uncertain but around 7 mins
Didn't look for signs - didn't intend to park
I was on my way to a workshop and had a parking voucher for area 5 mins drive further up the street
which I used afterwards
The defence, which is the total truth is that I did not enter in to a contract, because there was no contract
'stopped' only and did not 'park'
Thank you for reading. Any advice appreciated. I am still considering if to go to court, because this is totally unjust. My ex-solicitor friend (she took a break to have children and may go back) will accompany me to court if I decide to go. She advises strongly against mediation as she says it is an admission of doing something wrong, which I have not.
I shall spend this evening reading more on here. When people here say 'we win 99% of cases ... is that fromt he advice that you give? It seems easy when you know how and know your way around here, but if not it is really confusing! I shall try harder!
Thank you.0 -

No chance of problems with your credit rating
If you win, and you should that's the end of it, Egg on QDR's face and you claim costs.
Lose (doubtful) and you pay what the court orders within the time period they state, 14-28 days. No touching your credit files, not even a full stop ?
Mediation is a waste of time. You will deal with a nondescript person with little or no clue about the parking scam
You can see these dodgy legals off in court, it's only QDR and as they are part of Wright Hassall solicitors, not the smartest page in the book1 -
Thank you all. It has taken me ages to find the right place to post and I have been 'shouted' at along the way for posting in the wrong place. I get it, it is extremely busy. Lots of people with the same problem and you are great to give your time. Appreciated. I think I have my own thread now.
After doing many hours of reading here and finding a template for GDPR disclosure, I have written to One Parking Solutions and also ZZPS. I gather that I should also write to QDR Solicitors to advise them that I have written to their client One Parking Solutions.
Question: Please could someone advise if this is correct?
I was going to email these letters in the morning and then follow up with a copy by signed for royal mail.
Question: Is it ok to use the message form on One Parking Solution's website to 'email' the letter? (as well as post).
Simultaneously I am responding to the Notice of Proposed Allocation to the Small Claims Track - Direction Questionnaire - to say
No I do not agree to mediation
I want the case moved to my local court
I understand that I must also serve this document to One Parking via QDR. QDR have sent me a copy of One Parking's Direction Questionnaire.
Question: Is it okay to sent this by email to QDR?
Thank you for listening.0 -

Yes, Le-Kirk you very kindly did guide me to the right place, for which I am grateful. :-)
I was just unable to find it before.0 -
Please if anyone has the time, could you give my letter for GDP disclosure. I intend to post this today and as my printer is not working I have to go to the library. I think I'd rather post as well as email.
Thank you.
