Did some overtime in work today.. 5 hours! So earned an "extra" £37.50 gross. Wont neccessarily go off "debts" as in payments off CC etc so i wont count it.......but its extra going into my account to get out that overdraft quicker and avoid nasty 50p a day for being in your overdraft charge A+L are introducing! :D

I made some "savings" today too.... i recieved my maternity exemption certificate in the post today for free prescriptions.. so can now go get that prescription ive been holding out on (good job it wasnt deadly important!:o ) so £6.50ish saved there.......

An email went around all staff in work about the eyecare vouchers as we work with vdus.... so i was cheeky and emailed hr back asking did i have to be a permanent employee to qualify? their answer? "No.... here have a free eye test voucher.. and we'll pay up to £65 towards a a pair or VDU glasses if you need them" :D:D I was going to get an eye test done anyway as since got pregnant eyes have started to hurt loads again, and i am actually meant to have glasses for reading/computer work - but i broke them about 2 years ago and never had the money since to get new ones :o:o

I also rang Virgin Media to cancel my TV and broadband with them as of end of dec as thats when my 12 month contract runs out... told them i couldnt afford £23.50 a month anymore - and as i only watch the freeview channels and BT offer worked out cheaper for my broadband i'd like to switch..! Nice lady instantly said ok we'll cancel your tv 30 days from today - BUT we can offer you your current broadband package for £10 a month for the next 12 months instead of the usual £18 if you stay with us........ so i said "oooh i dont know.. erm... erm....... OK!" :rotfl: So reduced my outgoings by £13.50 a month and get to keep my broadband at £44 less for the year than the deal BT had offered me!! :j :j (Oh and then promptly request a freeview box for xmas as my main pressie off my family and they have said yes ok! so i dont have to even buy that!:D )

So althought ive not "made" anymnore money to pay off the challenge im quite pleased with myself.. hehe!!

p.s. i listed 3 items on ebay last night - first time ive sold anything in agggess... and already have watchers on 2 items. so fingers crossed!!!
  • I've spent weds, thurs and friday morning working freelance (for my old employer) so that's another £100 for my pot!Does it count though if I'm not going to get the money through until April? As it's a project that doesn't end until then so I will be doing the odd hour here and there for it right up until then.
A Life Less Simple - one day I'll get there

  • My Moms given me an early xmas present for me and the baby, £100!!!, she says I can eihter spend it or save it. A few months ago, that would have been gone but instead Im gonna shove it straight onto my debt, so it was what £552 at the beginning, now minus £126, I might even up my stakes.

Not sure I'm going to make my December Target now a few extra expenses have come through this month. Will have to try and reduce other spends and try and make a bit more money to try and cover the extra expenditure.
