Some more good news, just managed to log onto an old Bank Account online and found that I still had £20 in the account which I am going put against the 0% card

The bad news is I had asked this Bank to close all my accounts with them years ago and obsviously they haven't plus still have a £1500 overdraft limit with them. Once money has been transferred ot of the account I will be writing to them to make sure these accounts are finally closed once and for all.

Still in credit and only 1 week to pay day, looks like overdraft is gone, yippee

    Hows everyone else doing?

Sorry for hoggin this thread, how is everyone else doing?

I'm feeling quite down today, as even though I've paid off the overdraft now. I wanted to get the 0% card paid off before 1 July when 0% runs out, but have no idea ho at the moment. Any ideas where I can get an extra £1000.

Its going to be harder to make extra payments, as going on Holiday beginning of June have money for Holiday itself saved up but will have spending money to pay for. Plus the cashback sites seem to have slowed now now, only got £40 remaining in Quidco and that won't be payable till End April/Beginning of May. Plus no idea how much the council tax will be going up by yet.

Just really wanted to get it all paid off now, can't face doing another BT.

 Congrats on paying your OD off!!

I wish I had some ideas on how to get the extra thousand pounds! Its been something I have been thinking about too!

I hope I am on course to clear my two remaining debts by April (maybe a few days in rather than the first though). I have enough in my OD to pay for my ground rent whenever I get the bill plus I have two more lots of rent to come, some Amazon money and hopefully some other bits and pieces.

Congrats also to EAMD for paying off your debt!

Well I got paid today, it was great having slightly more in my account than my Salary it must be the 1st time for quite a few years. Nearly had my plans scuppered by Virgin media, as they were planning to charge my a ridiculus amount of money was very basic stuff, took 3 hours of teary phone calls to get it sorted and have been given quite a good deal, actually looking forward to next months bill to see how much I'm going to save

Its the beginning of March one month to go before the end of the challenge and I just wanted to see how everyone else was doing. It would be wonderful if I could get the 0% card paid off as well before the 1st April, but can't see me getting £900 before then. Good luck to everyone and congrats on progress so far

Need to do some faffing with my budget tonight but I'm up to £1767 of my £2000 total :D

I rang up Northern Rock for a settlement figure for the loan and I'm not entirely sure the woman calculated it right - the original paperwork I got quoted a figure of £2290 for paying it off after 6 months. I'm hoping to pay it off after 8 months and was quoted a figure of £2207 which doesn't seem quite right to me seeing as the monthly repayments are £135

Will ring back at the end of this month when I've been paid and then I can pay the whole thing off and will be totally debt free :j

well apart from the student loan but that doesn't count!
  • I think I've done it! I worked out the figures last night and I can invoice for the freelance project that I'm working on after the 19th and that will mean I can pay everything but my 0% CC off and it will be done with.
The money might reach my bank a few days after the first but it will still be paid off by April.

I can defo do this challenge.

April we'd owe CT Bailiffs £758 _pale_ , severn trent water about £600. Partner is getting back dated pay end of March (his work have been short paying him a whopping £70 a week) so we should be able to clear these and.....i want a 2nd hand laptop and payg broadband dongle from 3 so i can surf at home whilst he works away, well my mum did give him deposit money for his car.

    I graciously accept this challenge!

Hi I just wanted to post that we've done it:beer:

Our first target cc which was up at £3698 when we joined this challenge, now £800c, and the balance will be paid off next week when my OH receives an unexpected bonus. I can't believe we've done it.

From our numerous ( ) CC's it was the smallest but also has the highest APR. Clearing this now means we have a clear card to enable us to BT if we want too. The second target CC will be cleared by June (mortgage holiday) which will be fantastic. It finally feels like the debts are really reducing. Its been great not spending on the cards for the last six months but seeing a real fall in the debt has been FAB.

It's not been easy clearing the first one. We've had a few windfalls - selling some shares, selling by OH (MOT failed) car for very little, selling loads of stuff on ebay etc. The remaining cards to clear will be done from continued ebay selling, uping my income, reducing outgoings (although in this present climate that is proving very hard) and staying within our budgets.

Sorry of the long post - Yippee we've done it......... :T :rotfl:just wanted to share
