Clear a debt by April challenge

Can I join in please! I'd somehow missed this thread but I'd started my own April 1st challenge on my lonesome as a new year resolution but this is much more fun. I've thrown in most of the money I had from commission, coin jar etc, so I think the only way I can achieve my goal now is by ruthless budgetting - not helped by OH booking a holiday to Gran Canaria:rolleyes:1st April 2008 challenge:mad: xmas overspend = [strike]£254.05[/strike] £0:j......cc1 = [strike]£240.78[/strike] £0:j .......cc2 = [strike]£667.47[/strike] £0 :j ...amount owed to ISA = [strike]£1599.90[/strike] £0:jTOTAL TO GO = [strike]£2762.20[/strike] £0 !!! DONE IT DONE IT DONE IT!!!:dance:0

Course you can join the more the merrier.
I feel a bit stagnant with the challenge at the moment as had a 6 week wait from Decembers payday til Jans so this month has been sooooooooo tight.
We have paid a bit off the card but no where near enough. So looking forward to payday next week and paying off a large chunk. So determined to get shot of this pesky card by April as it will be such a huge turning point for us.Proud to be dealing with my debts - DFW No: 712

Posted some ebay parcels today that sold at the weekend - so now i can work out taking off all fees and postage etc i made a nice £10.98 to go towards my challenge!
Taking my total to £135.88 so far only £164.12 to go...
Id be really really proud of the amount ive paid off my debt this month except I spent £56 on my credit card yesterdayBUT it was to buy a carseat for baby! It was to fit our ( 2nd hand on ebay) silver cross travel system - obviously wanted a new car seat though for safety reasons.
WAS MSE and shopped about as the going price for the carseat which fits the travel system and colour co-ordinates i.e. is cream and brown was £96...... i looked in shops and online and found the exact same seat ..... but in navy fabric instead... for £56!!! Just cos it was a "2006" colour...... a £40 saving
Like the baby will be bothered she is in a navy carseat and not cream like her pram?!! I can just see her at the mum and baby group hiding her head in shame cos her carseat is "sooo 2 seasons ago colour" and doesnt match her changing bag and pram! :rotfl:

Finally got my Cheque from Global Test Market yesterday, so thats £25 to go in the bank. Recieved my Tesco on line shopping last night, but they hadn't brought the receipt so have to wait for that to come in the post now (quite annoyed this is the 2nd time that this has happened). I've also over spent by ordering loads of dog food, but it was on BOGOF and should last us 2 months. Its going to be a very expensive week as got to buy a Birthday Present for my Dad as well. Oh well it looks like February is going to be a no spend month.
Anyway pay day next friday, January has been a very long month.0 -
Just claimed £15 Cashback from Morgan Stanley Card so a little bit more in the pot0

Hiya everyone!
Is it me or is January really dragging? Its 13 days till pay day and I was paid about the 20th of December so its been so long between debt payments and this is the only debt where I have to keep the money in one account, no transfers or phoning up to pay credit cards or pay off a loan.
I am glad I paid off a thousand pounds off my overdraft months ago or I think I would just get too impatient and end up transfering the od to a cc just so I could make overpayments. At least when this is in the black (it will be the first time in nearly 10 years) then I can start transfering money to ISAs or internet savings.
Anyway no progress to report, just thought I would have a quick whinge about such a ghastly long gap between paydays!Debt Free - done

I'm up for this one too.
I know my overdraft isn't a huge debt but paying it off will mean that I can close the account and run my new bank account in credit, what an achievement that'll be!Only one debt left - overdraft £80:A0 -
Woohoo! Progress... See sig.
Managed to claim back £43.20 in charges from MINT. That has been paid off the credit card. Just waiting to hear back from Tesco about £60 worth of charges. If I get this back, this will also be going off the credit card.EMERGENCY FUND CHALLENGE - £2,292.05 / £6000
