Any other fishkeepers out there?

my thread was added to this one, I asked about getting a fish tank for my ds, well I have bought a 30lt tetra tank (not huge I know but it's got a good filter) and I've arranged with a local fish shop to get some white cloud mountain minnows to put in it (they are so pretty, much nicer than goldfish imo so thanks to the poster who suggested them as a smaller fish)

Plants are grown in bulk and treated with all sorts of hideous chemicals. My LFS advises that you soak them for at least 24 hrs before putting them in the tank. I learnt this the hard way as I put new plants in with my shrimp and they were all dead within 20 mins. Supposedly fish are less sensitive but poisoning is certainly not a cause I'ld rule out.
