Goldfish will try to eat each other if they spot a vulnerable or sick fish. Is the one being pecked at okay?
When you say you bought it WITH 3 fish, do you mean it already had the fish in it? If not, did you set up the tank and let it settle, get rid of the chlorine out of the water etc before putting them in it?May all your dots fall silently to the ground.0 -
all 3 of the fishes started to move very slowly in the tank just after 5 days i had set it up,and they all have 'bulging eyes'. i did set up the tank and let it settle..how do i get rid of the chlorine?0

Letting the water stand helps and you can get drops to put in the water before you put it in the tank. You may need to do a careful water change. There should be a bit about how in that link I gave you.May all your dots fall silently to the ground.0

There's a bit about bulging eyes here. But I wouldn't panic. Some of them have eyes that seem to bulge anyway. Were they like that when you got them?May all your dots fall silently to the ground.0

the fish also usually sit at the bottom , looking at the link you gave me it says ' - Sinkers which swim fine when disturbed. These fish usually feature a massive fluke burden and are being weakened by the flukes. They rest on the bottom, which further assists the flukes in becoming numerous on the skin and gills. The fish will eventually die. '
also when try to eat food thats been in there for 10 mins, they spit it out. they were completely fine when i got them and they used to move fast in the water and did not have bulging eyes,0 -
Oh what a shame. They really don't sound well at all. I really don't know what to suggest. You could ask in a local aquarium, or wherever you got them?
If you lose these 3 you might have to give the tank a thorough clean before introducing any more. But I hope it doesn't come to that.May all your dots fall silently to the ground.0 -

I'd agree with the water change. You need to get the dechlorinated water in there ASAP.
Your fish sound quite stressed. Good luck."One day I realised that when you are lying in your grave, it's no good saying, "I was too shy, too frightened."
Because by then you've blown your chances. That's it."0 -
Hello im sorry to hear your fish are ill, i always get very upset when mine are ill!!!
The idea is when you get fish is that any water you put in the fish tank you either treat with something to get rid of the chlorine or you let the water sit for a couple of days so the chlorine evaporates off.
If you bought the fish and put them straight in the water then this might be why they are ill. Although even if you did that you might have a problem with nitrites and Nitrates in the water, the these levels are too high then it can have effects on the fish. (to test these levels you can buy a test from the pet shop)
I had this problem and my fish got something called swim bladder which is when they cant balance and float on there sides.
What i think you need to do is put some water in a bucket and let it sit for a few days or treat it with chlorine treatment. Take the ill fish out of the tank and put it in the new water as its just going to be bullied by the other fish or pass on the illness to them. Try to find out whats wrong with it and buy the nesessary treatment.
Only when the fish is better return him to the main tank.
A fish tank works on balances of bacteria, if u introduce a fish to a tank where there is no bacteria build up they can get ill (they nomally recommend letting a tank sit running for a week or so before adding the fish to let the bacteria build up, if you add plants this will speed the process along). The fish rely on this bacteria to live.
So when you clean them out, try to only replace 1/3 of the water at a time and when you clean the filter sponge take some water out the tank and clean the sponge by squeezing it in that rather than tap water (tap water gets rid of the bacteria and makes the tank unstable).
Just a few ideas. im a fish nerd. hope the fish gets better soon.

The goldfish with black spots died today = ( ...yesterday i did a water change and even let the water settle but last night it was having trouble swimming, it was just laying on top of the water trying to move it self, whenever it went down into the water it would do some sort of flip and go back to the top of the water where it lay on its side, this morning it was dead, im gonna go and get the other fish checked out because it may have been the water change.

OH NO!!!!!
Poor thing, are the other fish alright?? because if they are it might just be one of those things, and it might be ok from here on.
