Oh my goodness, mustn't waste this sunshine, after all the rain. Frugal stuff from today's plans:
*Get as much laundry done as possible, so I can peg it out.
    *Bake a loaf.
*Pick last of the rocket & sow more.
*Feed & water all fruiting veg.
    *Cut herb bunches for drying.
*Two baths from one lot of hot water.
*Knit more of new stash busting socks I'm knitting.
    *Make tomorrow's packed lunch.
*Mr F clearing bed ready for planting out sweetcorn this week.
*More recycled meat trays, yoghurt pots, etc, down to shed for seed sowing supplies.
That will be it for today as we're going out tonight, but iit will set me up for the coming week, which looks to be rainy here, so any laundry I can get dried for free today will be a bonus.
    Cheers all,
    F x

I'm feeling a bit frazzled, had a busy week and ended up spending a bit too much Friday as I felt optimistic after having worked cover Thursday - stupid really as the money is badly need.
Am trying to plan a low spend summer with a teenager with 10 weeks off?
Hopefully he will get himself a job.
Family is Fobbed of as I'm not going to see them.
Also I am trying to work out how to rent a car without a credit card - I have feeling that this is not possible, but then its my own fault I'm in this situation so. Consequence. Thanks La Esco - research required.
    Anyways jobs for today:
    Walk dog done
Run - done did 8 k in an hour so am pretty happy.
Tidy garage to make room for stuff coming home from uni nope the young ones will get to help with that next Saturday I decided.
    Week/garden - done had a great time
Colour hair - done - colour is way too dark so looks a bit wiggy, not a good look
Read - nope just lots of chatting w friends
Have an other go at planning budget holiday activities - have made a start.

Best wishes to all, hope everybody's projects comes along. X

    Morning folks!

Nice bit of sunshine today - I must check the garden later as the weeds will sprout from nowhere.
I'm in work today so the usual boring stuff. Happily over the weekend I finished fil's scarf and a cushion panel I was making.
I also had a first attempt at needle sculpting a doll head. It did not go well :rotfl: I might use it for halloween though hahahaha.

I'm a bit irritated with something in work today. The general populace are not happy at the moment but I have a gut feeling that their expectations are not realistic. After all, this is a business, not a university. Unfortunately, being in on a Sunday, there's no one here to speak to about it so I'm just stewing.

    Today's mission:
    :heartpuls B/L/D from stores
:heartpuls Portion and freeze huge spag bol
:heartpuls Charge phone in work - done
    :heartpuls Poss cast on sock
:heartpuls Log cals in free app - done
:heartpuls Washng outside to dry. Have asked OH to keep an eye on the weather in case it rains - done
:heartpuls Use dehumidifier water on plants - done
    :heartpuls No alcohol

    Have a good one all

    Hi everyone

Ditty, I've got a feeling there is one company who let's you hire a car without a credit card but you might need to pay the deposit in cash. Can't remember which one though so I'm probably no use to you!!

So...in good news stories... OH fixed the washing machine after watching you tube. :j

Now my main washing worry is... I want to wash reusable nappies at 60 and they need powder and no softener, but I don't want to wash anything else that high with no softener so then I've got a little tiny load and putting the WM on the 3hr cycle... This is troubling me. Can try the nappies on 40deg and no softener but again then everything comes out like cardboard. Hmm... Decisions decisions... I actually love the reusable nappies... They are half way house ones with a disposable liner so nothing really on the nappy when you wash it you see...

Oh, need to go, will pop back soon to update...

    Afternoon all :)
OH is out today doing a demo of the craft that he does at an event, as a favour for the friend who is organising it. Not sure when he will be back for dinner / whether he will have eaten, so I have made a big chicken, chick pea and chorizo stew that can be reheated as and when, and keep for another day if it doesn't all get eaten. It also had the added advantage of using up lots of bendy veg from the fridge :DMy brother and I (he often comes round for dinner on Sundays) had some of the stew with a jacket potato and veg, and OH and DD finished off the rest later.
OH unexpectedly sold some of his craft items (they are expensive, and he doesn't usually reckon to sell anything at these events, which he does really as a favour - his sales tend to be either through commissions or via a posh hunting lodge place) :)

I updated his business records in the light of this.

    Other than that:
Car booting this morning, but only my business's money spent, as opposed to 'my' money (and not much of that as sadly there wasn't much there).
Made 4 pots of lovely jam from 2 punnets of Lidls plums that I bought yesterday for this purpose. It doesn't work out much cheaper than bought jam (if at all) when I have to buy the fruit, but home made jam is so much nicer that it is almost a different type of product from bought jam, so worth it in my book. Here's hoping for a bumper raspberry crop so I can make lots more, cheaper!
I have also emptied two containers of salad leaves, which have gone a bit stalky and bitter over time. I have noticed this happens quicker when plants are crowded / or are in shallow containers, but really I can't complain as I have had pounds worth of salad leaves out of these. I salvaged the best leaves (now washed, dried and in fridge) and the rest went in the compost.
I have sown more lettuce, but they can be tricky to germinate in summer weather, bizarrely. If they don't come up I will buy a container of 'living lettuce' from Lidls and plant the best of those out, and eat the rest!

Used the water from washing the lettuce to water the peas :)
Picked a few strawberries and a few mangetout :)

I have a bit of business paperwork and some ironing to do this afternoon, and DD has threatened to bring her small business paperwork over this evening so that I can help her with it  All my bits done, and I helped DD to do her tax return this evening. Worn out now!
DD brought us eggs from her hens and ducks :)

And I swapped some of my excess HM marmalade for some of her excess HM jam :)

Following on from a divorce, a house move, becoming a single Mum and turning 30, I'm now back and back on a DMP being nearly 4k in debt thanks to all of the above. I found out my ex husband had been having an affair in October last year and my mental health went on a downward spiral, credit cards, reckless spending and then to top it off 3 weeks ago me and my 2 year old son moved into a new rented flat.

So here I am, I've done it once and I'll do it again! Hope everyone is ok x

  • Afternoon everyone
Managed to get washing mostly dry on the line before the downpours. Small shop at Mr C and stuck to my list. Been out for lunch with friend but within 'fun' budget. She drove; I haven't actually used my car since Friday night! Allowed DD1 to put heating on briefly yesterday even though it is June! Been decluttering bedroom and got a couple of things to try to sell on the Bay of E.

Good luck to katy_ann - I separated over 10 years ago and been in debt since then - but I've been very focused since Christmas and this forum has definitely helped.
