Morning all

Not feeling great this morning, so no big plans
Took paracetamol and went to bed for a couple of hours this afternoon. Hardly ever do this... but it did the trick and I do feel quite a bit better now
Trailing spouse - good luck with your interview tomorrow
1LL -hope your son feels better soon
Purps, I buy my shampoo bars from a company that for a while had a shop in our town. It has sadly closed now, but they still sell online https://cbcosmetics.co.uk/ They aren't expensive and last ages, but you do need to use conditioner as well, and they don't seem to do conditioner bars (so I just use ordinary supermarket conditioner, in a bottle, sadly). We have very hard water here too, but for me these seem to work better than bottle shampoo. I guess it is quite a personal thing though.
CLF, I have strawberries in the wall basket outside our front door. If you have strawberries, it seems to be the case that you are always looking for somewhere to plant extras! That reminds me, I must look for ripe strawberries
Found 7
I have:
Made mushroom risotto for dinner - and there are leftovers for lunch tomorrow
Watered newly planted out seedlings, potatoes in pots, and greenhouse and outdoor tomatoes. Rain is forecast so I figured I would wait to see if anything else looked desperate after that.
Tidied fridge a bit, still lots to use up over the next few days in there!
Chucked out 2 remaining jars of 2014 elderberry jelly. Don't like wasting food, but it wasn't very nice when I made it, and it hadn't improved with age :rotfl:
Paid milk bill online
Ordered stuff that I hope is the right thing this time to join our new awning to the camper van! Thankfully not expensive!
Sorted out camper van kitchen box (our camper van is small and pretty basic and doesn't have all the lovely cupboards and compartments that the bigger, expensive ones do, just one cupboard under the sink / cooker unit) - so I use a plastic box for storage, and it needed a good tidy up!0 -
Good Afternoon All

Hi all :hello:
Feeling extraordinarily Thursdayish today. Never could get the hang of Thursdays…
Also something is now in flower which has triggered mega hayfever. Feeling utterly sideswiped, sounds ridiculous, but my head is so fuzzy and stuffy and I would just like to curl up and nap :rotfl:
Update from yesterday:
- bike to work – did the morning, needed to move the car pm though… so moved it to work
- Gym AM to use membership - done
- All meals and snacks from stores - done
- brush the dog, much to his chagrin (he really needs a proper groom tbh, but his usual lady is on maternity leave and I haven't found a replacement) – not done
- call barc1aycard – not done
- confirmation statement for dormant ltd co. – not done
- no alcohol – done, was tough for some reason
Today’s list:
- All meals and snacks from stores
- brush the dog, much to his chagrin (he really needs a proper groom tbh, but his usual lady is on maternity leave and I haven't found a replacement)
- call barc1aycard (frog alert)
- confirmation statement for dormant ltd co. (frog alert)
- no alcohol
- redo hanging loop on dressing gown or do the tricky (to me) post-heel-turn sock bit
- don’t go and buy sweets (I already have crystallised ginger and coconut toffees for a sugar fix, but I WANT haribo/skittles/the biggest bucket of pick’n’mix available)
Hope everyone is having a good day

Today:
Get agency work check
Make ds lunch check
Walk to work check
NSD yesterday check
LSD today check (had to get cheese)
Check breaks check (free, nice mechanic, sensor is not working but ... who cares)
Most food from stores check
Laundry on rack - check
mow lawn - check
Yesterday my car share person didn't want to car share .... so we drove right after each other on the way home, slightly annoying.
Hope all you lively ladies are enjoying the sunny days between the stormy rainy days XIsa help to buy: 1000/3000 33%
Emergency fund: 100/1000 10%
Weight loose 8.6 kg - while having fun. 0/8.6 0%

Morning frugal pals. The weekend is just over there, I can almost see it if I squint hard enough

Couldn't get tickets for DH yesterday, some more will be released in due course and they will be cheaper than yesterday if I manage to get them (think more common than rocking horse waste it seems :rotfl:) so every cloud and all that.
1LL hope your small is feeling better today. I'm sure film and cuddles did him the world of good.
My list for today:
Rustle up some lunch from freezer
Cancel veg box - going to have a break for a bit to use up what we have an have a break from theore regular offerings. Aubergine anyone :rotfl:
Update banking sheet, final money shuffle of the month
Fiddled with bigger budget to allow us to invest in something but also to reduce my income as the tax man has taken a benefit out of my tax code (again ) I've put it back in as it's a false economy not to. Annoying as it is.
Ask work when I can expect my p11d - I've done the rest of my tax return and I'd just like to get it submitted rather than faffing around in December :rotfl:
Hot drink for commute
Meeting friend at lunch for a walk and catch up. No spend required :T
Book smalls on to holiday club. If any of you need it, worth checking out. Mr S are running them all over the country. Look fab. £7.50 a day and inlude lunch. Can also use the nectar vouchers to pay if you want :A
Have a good day all. Purps.0 -
And we've made it to another day.
1LL I hope the son is feeling better soon. Sprains can be worse than breaks sometimes!!
Well, I'm sitting here all ready to go, with my interview earrings in and a knot in my stomach. Need to catch the 7:55 train, which will get me there far too early - but the next train would get me there bang on time, so no leeway if there are any delays!! Interview done. Will find out early next week as they're doing more interviews this afternoon.
So that'll be the morning taken up. This afternoon I need to shop (it's going to be a low-spend week, as I checked yesterday and there's enough in the freezer to make a main meal every night for a week). Won't be shopping at all if it doesn't stop raining. Thinking on, I don't need anything for tonight, so I might leave it until tomorrow. As I won't be buying much I won't need to take the car - but if I'm going to walk I'd rather not do it in the pouring rain!!
Then I need to sort out my mileage claims for travel to the place I volunteer - it's only 4 miles each way, and I've never bothered in the past, but I'm there a lot and I worked out I would probably get about £25 a month, so totally worth doing now. Done
This evening I'll go to the gym for the 5:30 session, then home for pizza and a glass of something alcoholic from stores (my Friday night treat). Done - totally smashed it at the gym - got rid of a lot of frustrations.
OK, let's do this.No longer a spouse, or trailing, but MSE won't allow me to change my username...0 -

Good luck today Trailing spouse

Hope your son feels better this morning 1LL
Good morning everyone else
Heavy rain here overnight, and more forecast for later, so no watering outside today :T The garden really needs it, even though the dog informs me that HE does not! :rotfl:
Didn't sleep much due to having slept during the day, but I feel ok today so am determined to get some stuff done!
Breakfast was leftovers, and lunch will be too! I will get that fridge sorted out! Done
Dinner will be fish from the freezer with our own new potatoes and mangetout
Done, also roasted some cherry tomatoes to go with it, from the huge bag I got from the market the other day, while oven was on
Today's frog job will be OH's tax return. It will be easier than mine was. Done :T:T:T Just the tax bill to pay now...
Walk dog if it stops raining (he 'can't' walk outside if it is raining, and there is no point in my going for a walk in the rain with him tucked inside my raincoat :rotfl:) OH took him during a brief sunny spell
Some cleaning, plenty to choose from :rotfl:Not done - a bit demob happy after the tax return I think!
Make a spinach pie this afternoon to use the rest of the fresh and frozen spinach and leftover filo pastry Done, determined to use a lot of the stuff in the freezer before I buy more! 2 Part bags of spinach now used, and I also used the last bag of French beans from last year's harvest, mixed with the mangetout

Checked banks
Load of washing pegged on line before it started to rain again - now on airer!
Picked a few more strawberries, which I made into a fruit salad for dessert, with some melon, a satsuma and a banana
Got chicken pieces out of freezer to make a chicken casserole tomorrow, which will use more of the lurking fridge veg

Morning all and thanks for the well wishes for ds1. He's putting a bit more weight on his foot and is doing the exercises the hospital told him to do
He's home with me again today but dh is working from home too so I was able to get out to my usual gym session which was good for clearing my head a bit.
Todays list
# ds2 to free school breakfast club
# ds2 taken the packed lunch we'd made on Wed for ds1 yesterday which didn't get used as he was off
# gym session done and water bottle refilled
# make sausage butties for brunch - need to knock the sausages off my freezer inventory as I forgot to do that yesterday

# iron just what needs doing (dh work shirts need ironing most other clothes can just be hung away)
# run the dishwasher on the quick wash
and empty
# dh and I will finish the chili/spag bols and the kids are sharing a pizza for their tea tonight
# more cwtches with ds1 if he wants them (and dh too!)
# check banking/update spreadsheet
# research new accounts as I've got some savings maturing next month
# correctly delivered survey
# book next weeks gym sessions
Thats about it, take care all.

Hahaha I've got one of those, but he's far too big to fit inside my coat! He's bred to be a rough tough mountain dog... but no-one told him apparently. If it's raining too heavily he won't even go out for a pee without cajoling, just stands at the open door and huffs at the rain :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Today:
- all meals and snacks from stores (it's freezer curry friday :T)
- gym AM to use the membership
- no alcohol
- perhaps one of those sock knitty or dog brushy activities... perhaps just a movie and some hm popcorn tonight instead
Hope everyone is having a good day
