Hi June Jollies,
Still on my precious two weeks off....:j Just back from sunny Cyprus and heading to the Highlands tomorrow for three days in the hope of seeing dolphins and puffins. The only spanner in the works being that my car developed a catastrophic brakes fault today  but luckily we can use DW's car instead which uses fuel faster. We can't cancel as our (budget) accommodation is already paid for. Oh well, I can't change this so maybe I can embrace it.

Morning all :hello:
My list for today:
Small shop, armed with list after I've checked my meal plan
Some form of exercise
Washing, but it'll have to dry inside
Film tonight from stash for all of us
Sort out spare room which has become a bit of a dumping ground
Check for surveys and daily lotto
Check cards for Father's Day, I'm sure I've already got them
Have a good day all. Purps.0 -
Morning all

We had more heavy rain overnight and would like some warm sunshine now please!!
So far this morning I have:
Washed hair and left it to dry naturally
Had a clear up in the kitchen and put on the DW
Folded dry washing from airer, identified a couple of items to add to the ironing pile, folded the rest and put upstairs.
Still to do:
Make a chicken casserole to use up rest of bendy veg
Dig some more new potatoes
Make a loaf in the BM
Go outside and tip the rainwater out of the outdoor tomatoes' plant pot saucers - they won't like sitting in water
Repost a letter addressed to our ex tenant who left here over 7 years ago. I don't know where she is now, so I have written 'return to sender' on envelope.
Do the ironing
There may well be more, depends on whether DD turns up with the little ones....0 -
Morning everyone, didn't post yesterday as worked till 2, sorted a frog (love saying that!), then went to visit DD2 at uni and didn't get home till midnight after a grim journey home in the wind and driving rain - bit scary actually.
1LL - hope your DS is getting better, we love the NHS too, we use it a lot unfortunately
PF26 - don't send me your aubergine, one of the few veg I don't like
Trailing - best of luck with your interview outcome
I was at work at one of my self employment roles yesterday so it was a good work day:) Got free lunch too. Got advice from my union rep on issues at my FT job - he said easiest thing may be to get a different job! Bit depressing really but we have had an investigation and outcome is awaited... As it's the weekend I am not thinking about my FT role now till Monday
All meals yesterday were from stores, took HM veg lasagne to DD2, or free
Didn't manage much walking as weather too atrocious.
Bought DD2 more food supplies and bought a gift for DD1 - chocs she loves on offer in Mr M. Updated budget sheet and still on track
Got comments on my latest submission for my qualification which were helpful and feel very focussed to get on and finish it now.... Not getting close to finishing it but am feeling focused and also confident that I can actually do it!
today I need to do some of my self emp work from yesterday's meeting and do some chores. Don't fancy venturing too far as grey and rainy outside but will put big coat on and get a bit of fresh air at some point. Got my father's day card ready to send so can use second class stamp:)
Hope everyone has a good day

Thanks for all the good wishes. The interview was on Friday - I think they're really looking for someone who is a lot younger than me, a student or similar. Will find out tomorrow but not full of hope.
Sorry to hear you're having work problems Ddfd. Hope they get resolved soon.
Will be volunteering this afternoon (https://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/events/10048537-8313-4e89-8aef-ae964aba060f/pages/details). If you're in the area, come along!!!
I finally made it to Aldi yesterday (rain stopped play on Friday), between the showers. Spent the grand total of £7.90 for the week, due to having enough in the freezer for a week's worth of main meals.
We think we might have a buyer for the MGB - OH is meeting them here so they can have a look at it. We're going to split whatever we get for it 50:50. It'll be good to get rid of it out of the garage, plus it'll reduce other costs, like insurance and breakdown cover. No longer a spouse, or trailing, but MSE won't allow me to change my username...0 -
Wow trailingspouse that looks amazing. If we were nearer I'd definitely be coming by with the smalls.
Ally followed each step in your link. Hair now looks normal. You are, as ever - totally amazing :T
My list for today:
Tidy downstairs
Register to access library out of hours (which is daily) as it's only manned a few hours a day now but we can access out of this times if we register
Update meal plan, got a barginous box of fruit and veg in L1dl yesterday for £1.50 (punnet of grapes, 3 loose green bananas, pointed peppers, 2 heads of broccoli, tray button mushrooms, large tomatoes) so just what to check I make best use of them. Needed some of the contents anyway.
Make roast dinner
Defrost rhubarb and crumble topping and put in the same dish :rotfl:
Visit a local farm as it's open farm day
Submit meal readings
Make packed lunches etc... for tomorrow
Have a good day all. Purps.0
