Thanks for all the commiserations/good wishes about the jobs.
I took some time out yesterday to visit the place I'm interviewing for tomorrow - it's free entry, so just had to pay my train fare (£3.40 return) and then decided to have a cuppa while I was there, in the interests of research... (£2.00)
It would certainly be an interesting place to work, and I enjoyed my visit very much (had been before, but probably two years ago at least).
I was supposed to have a hair appointment tomorrow morning, but as it coincided with the interview I've had to rearrange. My lovely hairdresser has managed to squeeze me in this morning, so I'll look extra smart for tomorrow!!
Then I'm off to volunteer for the rest of the day - not sure how much longer I'll be doing it, as I'll have to give it up if I get a full-time job. This saddens me greatly. One of the managers has offered to give me some interview coaching and suchlike on Saturday, which is really kind. Or maybe she's trying to hurry things along... Hmm.
Have a lovely, productive, debt-free wannabe kind of day everyone.

            Morning all,
That's some list, DNMS. You'll be a super-achiever if you get through all that!
Frugal efforts on today's list:
*Put my water bottle out so I don't forget to take it to festival tomorrow. It infuriates me if I have to buy water when I'm out & about.
*Do next week's meal plans. DONE
*Write shopping list.
*Sort clean laundry pile & iron only what needs it.
*Start this week's big house clean as shall be a bit pressed for time tomorrow, which is my usual cleaning day.
*Bake a loaf.
*Weed the rhubarb bed.
*Water greenhouse veggies & newly planted out stuff.
*Check for surveys.
*Aim to finish knitting my friend's socks. Decide on next stash busting project. Or I might do a YouTube tutorial as I want to learn how to do a Channel Island cast-on ready for a future project.
*Cut some more herb bunches for drying.
Right, better get off this very comfy chair & make a start.
Have a good day all,

            Morning all,
A change in plans for me today as ds1 had a fall last night and I ended up at the hospital with him (LOVE OUR NHS!) Luckily its not broken just a sprain but he's in a lot of pain so he's home with me today and tomorrow now.
So todays list will depend on how he is as the day goes on.
# cancel today/tomorrows gym classes done
# walk ds2 to his school bus - one less car journey today done
# wash a load on the quick 30 degree wash and hang on the line outside to dry done 2 loads now out there
# general potter around
# all meals from stores (glad I made that spag bol and chilli yesterday!)
# maybe make packed lunches for tomorrow, need to find out if dh is wfh or not first
# check banking/update spreadsheet done
## updated rm survey as I forget yesterdays - done
## cleaned kitchen using washable cloths and stardrops
## todays correctly delivered updated
Thats my not very adventurous list, hopefully I'll add to it as the day goes on.
Take care all xSticking with the "Small things" thread to keep up us on the straight and narrow.

Yesterday was full on, we joined up with a group of home educating families for educational visits. We left the house at 8.30 am and returned at 10.30 pm, both children were shattered.

Morning all :hello: wow, you lot are up and at 'em this fine Thursday :rotfl:
My little list as I'm working from home:
2 loads washed and outside, another one on
Something out of freezer for tea today and tomorrow
Customer paid me for an item from my small business
Paid a big bill  at least we had the money saved
See if I can gets tickets for something for DH birthday
Work out how much to invest in something and then make the application
Smalls to prepaid activity
One small to disco. She can use her pocket money for entry and some sweets (is that mean?)
Anyone offer any advice to a good shampoo bar. I've persevered for a year and they're ok for a bit then my hair goes all lacklustre and looks greasy. I ACV rinse every wash still and live in a very hard water area which I think makes a difference. Really don't want to go back to bottles. TIA.
Have a good day all purps.0 -
1LL - your poor son! I hope he heals quickly!
I'm currently channelling my inner foxgloves. The wall basket at the front of the house needs replanting. My mil gave me some plants but the ivy that has lived in it for ages suddenly looks dead. My brain started saying... you need new ivy. Go to the garden centre and buy some. While you're there, the coconut mat liner needs replacing too...
Inner foxgloves: Take the ivy out and re-pot it to see if it comes back. Stretch the matting out a bit and possibly pad out with moss from the lawn. There are sufficient plants to fill the basket if you don't plant as densely. If it looks bare, you have plenty of escaped strawberry plants that could be used to pad out the basket, no matter what OH says about they attracting too much attention to the house.
Inner foxgloves was totally correct. Planter looks fab with ivy removed and freebie plants in. Ivy was suffering from a severe case of youdidn'twatermeyouidiot-itits. I have planted it up into it's owm pot with fresh compost and it may well perk up in time for the autumnLBM 11/06/2010: DFD 30/04/2013Total repaid: £10,490.310 -
Thanks CLF he's very cwtchy (wanting cuddles) but no more tears today
He's taller then me but looked so small last night. I'm just finishing off my list then I'm going to watch a film with him from our stash.
PF Sorry no idea about the shampoo bars as I've not tried them, I think Dawn uses them though.Sticking with the "Small things" thread to keep up us on the straight and narrow.
