OH busy decluttering a huge bramble in the garden. I'm trying to getthrough the washing that DD2 has brought home.
DD1 due in on the train this evening so will be having birthday dinner for her, might try and make a cake for the occasion.
Have seen a rubberised glove in the supermarket for grooming pets, thinking of giving it a go as my fluffy cat will not be brushed (I tried for years and even started when she was a kitten but she won't have it). This year she seems to be getting more matted than usual, it might also help to keep down the amount of white hair the other cat leaves all around the house. Anyone any experience?
Started using new bathroom today, it's so nice having a bigger shower and nice bright lights, downside is I can see what I look like and what a mess the make up is!
Have a nice Sunday everyone.0 -

I purchased the exact same item only from “fleabay” for a fraction of the cost! My Dcat2 loves it and he hates to be brushed so it was a success for us.. Dcat1 likes to get in on the act by running off with it & hides it under the chair! :rotfl:"There's a little witch in all of us"🔮🪬🧿DEBT FREE 06/2018Mrs SD’s Decluttering 2025 ⭐️ 🥇🥇🥇0 -
House smells lovely as all the cake sale baking has been done. Kitchen looked a tip though. Mostly tidied up now so I have a short time to go outside threaten the plants into growing - if the rain holds off.
Looking forward to a Jazee list next week. Have a lovely week Valli!

Rubber/plastic cat brushes/mitts - you'll end up with about three Knit-Your-Own-Cat Kits. And another on your clothes. They're worth it to have the felines all slinky and glossy.
Cleaned the upstairs bathroom, collected various mugs and glasses from upstairs.
Himself then remembered that he hasn't done any housework all week and started doing stuff in the kitchen.
He did buy some flypaper [strike]which I discovered when it attached itself to my hair when walking towards the back door and not paying attention to stuff not quite above my head[/strike].
He also decided to get Fluffy Grumpy Cat non gluten free cat food and not mention it to me. He now has some horrific patches to clean up in the showerroom as I'm not doing it. There's only so many times I can tell him she can't have standard cat food.
Bathroom is all clean and washing has been presented to Himself, as he hadn't done it and I need work clothes. [strike]and it reminds him of Project Washing Machine[/strike].
Also planted some Pumpkins, two to replace the one that has either been eaten or dug up by Idiot Cat and then eaten and one that has been strategically placed to take advantage of the defunct water butt (broken tap, plants have found their way inside so it can support growth with the nutrients in the water).
Dinner is apparently on its way. Hope it's quicker than usual, as I'm feeling a bit 'floaty'.
And tea has arrived. Which is definitely needed.I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0 -
It's taken days dipping in and out but I've finally backed up everything I wanted to keep from my laptop, so that's several hundred photographs and all the documents. I've sorted, filed and fitted everything on to three really pretty little memory sticks, so I can now start dealing with the main computer. I need to remove a lot of photographs from that first because I think I've got thousands of duplicates. I want to get back to the computer automatically backing up every day at 7.00 pm on to the memory stick in the back of it and it can't any more because there's too much clutter on it.
I've also thrown hundreds of printed photographs away and removed the ones I want to keep from various albums which have hit the bin. I need to get rid of hundreds more - and that's without starting on the rest of the albums. This is a hideous task because I've never, ever thrown a printed photograph away before, except all of my mother's photograph albums when we were clearing out the house. It sounds like sacrilege, but there were dozens and dozens, none of which were annotated. The task simply defeated all of us. Surprisingly I've never regrettted doing that, and it was about 15 years ago and she never once asked for them when she was in the nursing homes.
I don't look at my own albums because there are now so many of them and it's about the past, so I want this bit of decluttering done before the scale of it overwhelms me. It's taken me 25 years to get round to this so it's not surprising it's taking me far, far longer than I had optimistically envisaged.Better is good enough.0 -
Evening all.
Had a much needed rest day here today. I've watched films with DS while he "revised", put some dry laundry away, dailies, done 2 batches of dishes (only as some that DS had done had to go back through again!), filled the dogs bubble machine for him I don't know how many times (but he's much calmer for running around the yard catching them for at least half an hour), tidied up the livingroom, and done a few hand sewing jobs (only stopped as my eyes are now tired).
Just put tea on as we're having a late one here. DS has been upstairs revising for his exam tomorrow morning then coming down for an hour or so before going to bed. I'm hoping he'll go into school for the full days this week as it's my busy work week and he gets much more revision done in school than at home, but at the same time roll on the 18th and them all being over with. Then we can get stuck into the 'big' jobs around medical appointments and his holiday.
It also means I only have a week of peace left to get my accounts sorted. Tomorrow I'm planning an household admin day, and I already have my list writtenI think I'll be closing the curtains, putting my phone on do not disturb, some "productivity" music and getting stuck in!
See you either later or tomorrow on the new thread :wave:Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0 -
