Finally stopped raining here and sun trying to break through as well, not holding out much hope that it will last though!
One load done through wm and hung on airer with dehumidifier going, should be dry fairly soon.
Clothes from yesterday put away.
Bed changed, will wash later or tomorrow if the weather improves, don’t like using the TD or drying indoors if I can possibly help it.
Brunch eaten, dishes done and all bins emptied.
Spare room and office tidied, dusted and hoovered
Just about to do a quick vac through other rooms and I think that should be it for today.
We will then have a couple of hours looking at some financial stuff and paperwork. It’s turning into a bit of a frog so should eat before it becomes a toad!!
Garden could do with a bit of a tidy but that will have to wait until it dries out, far too wet at the moment to venture out there.
Back later....0 -
Hello everyone. Yesterday flying was abandoned.
Today, I took the dogs for a two hour walk before the rain and between showers I weeded one of the raised beds. One load of washing is also on airer and dailies are done.
I've just had a shower and now intend to rest and knit for the rest of today. We were supposed to be going out tonight but I cancelled and DH is making dinner.
Hope you're all looking forward to my lists next week!Spend less now, work less later.0 -
I'm looking forward to my week off - so lots of washing and ironing today in preparation for packing tomorrow. Isle of Wight watch out - Sharks on Tour! (That's the class name lol)
Does that mean the other class are the Jets?
Having a very lazy day. Met Himself in a pub yesterday where he'd met some friends on the way back from work, got small, fuzzy, bitey cuddles from the tiny black New Pub KittenHimself was also incredibly taken with her (but she decided to curl up and have a snooze balanced on my collarbone, so he didn't get much of a look-in). Then I got hit by the Migraine of All Migraines, so stumbled home, got the cold pack going and I slept until 11.30pm, when he produced a microwave curry and a packet of pretzels (high class catering!). We then ended up writing music until 5am and then crashed out again until midmorning.
Vegged out in the bath and then realised I've been missing a weird bit at the back of the sink for weeks - it was revolting - so I'm going to give the bathroom a once over with hot water and disinfectant and then do nowt else for the rest of the day, hopefully.I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0 -
Absolutely loads done including a job that's been on the list for weeks, I must have wasted at least half an hour of my life thinking about doing it, and it took approx 90 seconds to do. Also washed all kids bedding and DH will remake just before they go up.
Wrote most of my final essay for my course too, now relaxing with a beer
DH has made a chilli for dinner and we will watch a movie. Have lovely evenings a,k x0 -
Finished DD2 bedroom. 2 runs to the tip with trailer so nice to see rubbish going, it was all the old bathroom stuff but I did throw in a few other bits I found lying around.
More washing, and I guess even more tomorrow once DD2 unpacks and DD1 may have some with her when she comes in the evening for her Birthday dinner.
New collars on both cats so they look nice and smart.
Just waiting for OH to get back from diy shop with a new strimmer (to keep me busy next week he says, whilst he's away) then I'll make dinner, soup so just needs reheating.0 -
Well I decluttered a nap this afternoon so financial stuff was not discussed! Feel better though, it’s been a tiring week. Just put bedding in to wash as forecast better for tomorrow. Also had tea washed up and now relaxing with a glass of wine.
May just mop the kitchen floor before settling down for some tv for the evening. Financial stuff now moved to tomorrow’s agenda. We will get there!
Have a lovely evening all0 -
Evening all  Home safe after a week in a very nice cottage with lunch and evening meal out every day
Lots of waves to lots of Flyladies as we came down the A1(M)/M1. The rain tipped down for the first 200 miles of our journey home, then dried up for the last 50, and back home we have sunny intervals. My veg have grown a lot this week, and I don't think my friend will have had to do a lot of watering!
We saw some stunning scenery and visited several special places, and I walked long distances with Rosie while DH did other things (usually sitting and reading or snoozing). He was able to hire a motorised buggy at one place, which meant we were able to visit the gardens together, but I think he has now realised how limited he is in where he can go and what he can do without putting himself in pain for the rest of the day - however, it hasn't stopped him eating the wrong things (we dined on fish and chips most nights), so I'm quite glad I won't be there when he steps on the scales at SW next week  But I shall also have to make a big Slinky effort as I can no longer claim to have a sylph-like figure!
Since coming home I have already made a cuppa, started one WM load and sorted another, put away all Rosie's things, listened to the answerphone messages, opened my post and disposed of the junk mail. Now I must take Rosie for a walk, so that she can catch up on all the local doggy news, and then find supper. My fridge is almost empty, so I will need to do a big shop tomorrow.
See you all on the new thread tomorrow - thanks to Jazee.0 -
Sorry no Jets... they're sea creatures so starfish, sea turtles etc.
I have used my new jam pan...rhubarb and ginger jam made. It's quicker than the old aluminium one.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016
Thank you Honey Bear0 -
Morning all,
Looks like a much better day weather wise. About to put the bedding out to dry and another load swishing.
Garden needs a little attention if it stays dry. DH will do that later.
Not much planned, we do need to do the financial stuff but I think we should also get out for a walk and make the most of it being dry! Once DH is up and dressed I will suggest that we do that I think.
Have a lovely day all.0 -
Morning all. The sun is shining.
The dogs got up at 6, DH let them out before he left for the paid stuff and I stayed in bed. Poppet joined me and we slept in till 8.
First cuppa slurped. I plan to walk dogs, s&s bathrooms and kitchen and do gardening today.
And do the new thread tonight- don't let me forget.
Have a great day everyone.Spend less now, work less later.0
