Hello all, hope everyone's ok, it's very quiet here.

Dailies and dog walking done, pile of paperwork sorted and second washload in machine. I have almost an hour before the paid stuff so I'll see what I can get done from the list.
Spend less now, work less later.

2 washloads done and out on line here,
Tidied my desk and paperwork while listening to some mandatory but boring training this afternoon!
Quick cuppa now then back to it but hoping to finish at 4ish, will do some fluttering then.

    See you all later on

I need to take myself to task - due to various things going on, everything is sliding. Not a happy flylady.

Big progress though - drum roll - we have new floor in the ex RoD! The fitter came round to prep it and decided that he could just do the whole job. Looks pretty good. Especially as the room is empty (just don’t look in the other RoD, the loft, the landing....you get the picture).

My 4 hours at work today became 6.5, came home and had a call and straight back out to a volunteer meeting. Back home, cooked dinner (including lots of homegrown salad - slinky and :money:). Kitchen has been flitted around so that it is presentable if you don’t look too closely.
Somehow the tufts of grass on our gravel drive have become a 6” high meadow overnight. Looks a right state so that’s another job on the list.
WM loaded for the morning and DH has instructions to run the DW when he gets home in the afternoon.
That’s me done for today. I might just see if I can figure out what storage I can get in the new room.
    Good night all.
  • Himself is....happy. He's doing this rather strange thing of standing up straight, smiling and even laughing. It's - different.

He's enjoying this contract, as he's not being micromanaged and isn't confined to a tiny hotdesk with a headset and constant monitoring. I couldn't help but splutter tea over my keyboard when he said 'I'm really looking forward to Friday, it's been a manic week at work', though. He's done about 28 hours this week.

Apparently, he's decided that we need a washing machine, so that's the first thing he's going to buy. I'm not sure if this is an 'I'm a man, I earn, I buy grown up things' or 'I'm fed up of handwashing everything in the bath', but as long as we get a WM out of it, I'm not going to complain - even though he'll never agree to get a Miele.

House looks OK(ish). He's agreed to do a DJ gig in a couple of weekends, too, which will help the WM Fund.

I'm worn out by the redundancy waiting game. Still not had a formal letter confirming it's happening or an end date. Just get on with it or not, but let me know one way or another. I've also got an interview coming up, so I'm feeling a bit more positive, especially as Sources Say that it's not necessarily for the position advertised, they're unofficially looking for somebody with a particular skillset (that I have) and might be thinking about finding some extra dosh to recruit for that. It's been a long time since I've had anything other than a 'thanks but no thanks' email from anywhere I've applied to.

But - I need a cuppa. So I'm going to stop wibbling and make that before going to bed.
I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.

  • Morning all,

Got up at 5am to make sure the dog had a good long walk as she will be on her own for a while today. TD is on with loads of socks and knickers, I have hoovered all through as well and made the beds. Child free night so I am determined to come home to a clean and tidy house and relax!

Out for a curry tonight so no cooking needed. Have lovely days all xx

    Morning all,

I'm up, dressed in old/scruffy clothes, am not working and have a dirty house, but the bathroom is finished so today I WILL fly.

Radio is on so off I go.

Will be reporting regularly as I allow myself mini breaks on the computer in between tasks and HHC.
