Another hot one here, hit 30 degrees, and an unexpectedly busy day in the office. I had my portable fan next to me at all times!
DH out for a gig this afternoon so he dropped the kids off at the office for half an hour until my shift ended.
Once I finished work we popped to the shops to pick up cards and gifts for the boys teachers (they used their own money so were much more budget conscious than when they spend my money 😂).
Given the fab school reports yesterday, we agreed to buy the boys some treats to have while they stay up late to watch the match tonight so I gave them a budget and they managed to get their favourite drinks, sweets and crisps by pooling their money and buying larger sizes to share. Was good to see my MSE ways are rubbing off on them 😂.
DH will be back in time for the match so I think the plan is for us all to have late showers and eat later than usual to try to ensure we're awake for as much of the match as possible. They can all have a lie in tomorrow but I'm back in work so will set an alarm or 2 just in case!
No additional pennies earned today so today's PAD is the standard £2.

It’s lovely that the children have started to think savvy with their money. Mine are showing signs of it too (when they can get along together for long enough) and it does make me feel proud 😊.

Ah well done to the mini Dakota Rose's too 😊 It is lovely, and although it's not a regular occurrence here it's lovely to see the mini lightbulb moments when they happen and, like you, it makes me very proud.

Horrendous day at work, everyone a bit hot and bothered I think (we really don't get these high 20's temperatures here so 3 days of it is confusing 😂) then I came home to a grumpy DH caused by tiredness after he spent most of last night watching the World Cup matches. Apparently he's been grumpy with the kids while I was out too, honestly it's like having 3 kids at times!
Have just packed him off upstairs at the same time as the kids so I can have an hour to decompress while cooling down with an ice lolly or 2 before I go to bed 😂
£2 PAD today.

Another busy day gone in the blink of an eye!
Since getting home from school and work we've spent time emptying & cleaning the paddling pool before refilling it and letting the boys run riot. We also ate outside which always feels like a treat. Got a bit cooler now so we're back inside but it's been lovely to have some relaxing time as the middle of the week is always a rush with Cubs/Beavers/Swimming Lessons plus we have the world cup semi finals in the mix too. Roll on Friday!!!
The boys are very excited to have only 4 more school days left, me and DH less so 😂 We both have 2 weeks off coming up soon, I'm so looking forward to a decent break as I haven't taken any annual leave so far this year.
Our family friends has her pre op assessment tomorrow and then has surgery scheduled early August which will determine the severity of her health issue. My elderly uncle has been hospitalised with heart issues and is quite poorly at the moment, DH also has an issue that the doctor wants to investigate further beginning with repeat blood tests tomorrow so all going on healthwise here and keeping everything crossed for positive outcomes all round 🤞
In money news, a NSD today and £7 received from V!nted making today's PAD £9.

Keeping everything crossed for positive health news all round. I actually finally had the realisation I am getting old the other day when I got a random call from the docs to book in 'my health check' 🤣

Thanks Dan and yes we definitely hit a few more triggers at the doctor's once we get to a certain age 🤫😂
On a serious note, at least these things help to identify any potential issues early on where possible x

Day off, have deliberately just had a pottering day other than taking Mum for her weekly shop as I'm shattered after the last few days.
DS1 is getting a lift to Cubs shortly, DH and I will flip a coin to see who is picking them up 😂 We ate early today so DS2 playing with the neighbour's kids while DH and I sit in the garden. It's been good to grab 5 minutes peace before DS2 and friends inevitably run back in to our garden as they seem to enjoy darting between the 2 houses.
I remembered to use Jam Donut today is A$da, balance there is £7.05. This is building slowly as we've been shopping in L1dl and Morries recently and they're not on the app but free money is free money so I'll persevere.
Another £3 from V!nted today, sales have stopped so need to list some more bits or perhaps create bundles rather than individual items. 1 item has also been lost by the courier so not likely to see any compensation from that until next month.
My payday tomorrow which is always a nice boost mid month, looking forward to chipping a bit more off V12.
