weatherspoons

I think the main problem arises from the expectation of anything decent from a weatherspoons - the fact they employ (generally) muppets to microwave the food doesn't exactly ensure a high quality. Next time do a bit of research and find a nice privately (rarety) owned pub than a chain one that buys cheap, sells cheap and employs cheap and just as good as their food staff.0

I have in the past mystery shopped Wetherspoons, and know for a fact that if I put in a bad report, something was done about it very quickly, and if the red sheet was put in, the area manager visited within a few days.
If you complain and insist on your money back, you will get it.:rolleyes:0 -
Another thought, call environmental health and report them - tell them about the disgusting state of the toilets saying that they hadn't been cleaned for what looked like months. You could always add that the food you ate made you ill and you think there might be a connection - if the loos are dirty then the kitchens are most likely in the same state too.
Would that not be lying?
If you're going to make stuff up and report them to EH why not also say that the bloke behind the bar was a mad axeman and that the managerss stole one of your kidneys?0 -

Be fair-where can you get 2 meals for £6, plus beer for £1 a pint, if you want a posh resturant, go to one, not Weatherspoons, yes somtimes the chips are cold, but youll get that at Beefeaters and similar places at more than twice the price.
The two Weatherspoons we vist have been very good-great value, Most Pubs you have to pay first for food.

When it came to our table both burgers were between two slices of cheap white bread!! We asked why there was no burger bun and they said they had run out! We asked why we were not advised of this at the time of ordering and the girl just shrugged. So I complained via their website and they sent me a £5 gift voucher which covered the cost of my meal.
Interesting - I've complained on line quite a few times online mainly about non availability of certain items in their breakfasts and / or long waiting times at one particular sloppily run branch. I've never received anything remotely like a voucher only the stock letter thanking me saying the area manager has been informed, they regularly have mystery shoppers in etc.0 -

I never ever eat in Wetherspoons any more. I had eaten there a couple of times and thought it was ok, nothing special. The last time I ate there I had lasagne. I ate a chip and then went to scoop some of the lasagne suce onto the chip when I saw nestling amongst the other chips a long black hair. I took the meal back to the counter and asked to speak to the manager and said about the hair in the chips. The manager suggested it was one of my own hairs (im blonde the hair was dark) then they suggested that I had planted the hair in the food in order to get a free meal (surely I would have eaten it all first then complained if that was the case?) After several weeks of letters and phone calles they begrudgingly refunded me the cost of the meal.
