thought ide treat my family and dad today with a sunday roast at weatherspoons so me dad hubby son daughter went there ordered 5 roast dinners yum yum really looking foward to it as ive never eaten there before..
then served 5 roast dinner but only vegtable was peas so i questioned this they said we do not have any other vegtables like advertised brocolli and carrots so i said if i would have known that you did not have any i would have gone else where i was quite upset about this as they had not told me and the lady i spoke to was very rude
i said my daughter would like carrots with her roast (as she is 2 and has to have carrots with everything) the lady said i cant just magic something i have not got...RUDE
so i sat back down and ate my half roast dinner and i went back up to the lady for the childrens fruit bag and activity pack she said ive only got one activity pack i was like oh well i have 2 children im sorry its no good they will fight over it a 2 year old and a 6 year old she said well thats all ive got and walked away so taking the activity pack to my children ripping it in half to share the crayons and 2 bits of paper they were not impressed i was so looking foward to it but i also noticed the state of the floor around us squashed chips crisps peanuts rubbish was discusting our table was very sticky aswell but i wondered off to the toilet with my daughter and the edges of where i was walking was just like thick black dirt and dust i was discusted it was not clean in there at all so we got rude staff lack of communication dirty messy and not what we ordered
how would you feel?
what can or do i do???????

I've worked in a similar pub years ago and when customers complained all they got was an free meal voucher. Not sure what Wetherspoons would do. All you can do is complain and see what happens. If you're really concerned about the cleanliness of the place then perhaps a call to environmental health would be in order?

that was the manager lol she was rude

i dont know weather its that dirty to complain about as its not the kitchen
i work in a pub health visitors only focus on toilets kitchen bar ect

I can really understand what you mean.
I was in a weatherspoons in the \\\\\summer hols. I went in for a cold drink with my friend, hubby, and little lad.
The rude assistant, shouted at me to sit the lad down, i was going to the toilet, with him. When the rest of the party returned from the bar, they seid we have to have food or they wouldnt serve us. the pub was not busy, dead as a matter of fact. the bar staff were very rude, it has put me off weatherspoons. we could not eat the food, because we had eaten before visiting weatherspoons. i waste of money and time.

Try writing a letter of complaint to their head office.Even if they do nothing at least they will have noted your concerns and you never know you may get something out of them even if it's only a free drink.

Mention the manageress' attitude too. She shouldn't speak to her customers like this.

You can make a complaint via their website. I had to do this few months ago. Went with a friend and we both ordered burger and chips. When it came to our table both burgers were between two slices of cheap white bread!! We asked why there was no burger bun and they said they had run out! We asked why we were not advised of this at the time of ordering and the girl just shrugged. So I complained via their website and they sent me a £5 gift voucher which covered the cost of my meal.

I used a Wetherspoons near Poole where my meal was served cold and my partner had ordered chilli with rice - only they had no rice and the chilli amounted to a teaspoon full. The bar staff were more interested in talking to their friends rather than serving people - both my partner and I wanted drinks but got fed up of waiting.

I wrote to Wetherspoons (now I get a whole load of spam emails) and they sent a letter apologising for our bad experience and advising how they would send in a mystery shopper to try them out as well as speaking to their regional manager. Never had anything else from them - no vouchers nothing except spam, spam and more spam.

Is there a Toby Carvery nearby, if so, use them as they don't seem to run out and are probably cheaper too.

Another thought, call environmental health and report them - tell them about the disgusting state of the toilets saying that they hadn't been cleaned for what looked like months. You could always add that the food you ate made you ill and you think there might be a connection - if the loos are dirty then the kitchens are most likely in the same state too.

I'm going to be complaining today as well. Been going there for 10 years and although the food is not high quality I've always been happy - you get what you pay for! But today I got the roast which consisted of - dry salty chicken, burnt stuffing, burnt but soggy yorkshire pud, 4 dry roast potatoes, no boiled potatoes and cold hard veg. Actually the whole lot was cold.
