???
You run RUFUS and point it to the Windows ISO file.
Or use the Microsoft tool to create a Windows 10 USB installer?
download rufus, tap on select, windows box opens, tap on "all" as nothing is there under iso, rufus download shows up, double click, click on select button , and at the bottom of the rufus box it comes up with
"failed to scan image".0 -
Apologies if this is the wrong place to ask, looking at having a family member build a new computer for me.
Looking at installing windows 10 which is around £90 on pcpartpicker. Found links to a website that sells genuine keys for Windows 7 or 8 for less than £10.
Appears genuine with direct links to download windows 10 from Microsoft.
After reading this thread it appears that Windows 10 will install fine using the serial number for Windows 7 or 8.
That would be a big saving. Does this sound legitimate?
Thank You.0 -

I'm not sure that RUFUS downloads the image for you, so you need to download the ISO first. THEN run RUFUS and point it to where you downloaded the ISO.
Or use the MS utility that does it all for you, including the download.0 -

The bit that you are failing to do, after the Windows box opens, is to navigate to where the .iso is stored.
It actually shows you that on the video. You aren't paying attention.
Look at the video; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6PiLwiByuxg at 6:18 it shows you. The difference is the his is stored on the Desktop. Yours perhaps in the Downloads folder, if you downloaded it at all.
To whence have you downloaded and saved the .iso?0 -

1. ensure that you haveselected "check for updates"
2. ensure you have selected DOWNLOAD rather than SELECT at the top
3. click on DOWNLOAD and you'll see all the ISO options
Try it..If you put your general location in your Profile, somebody here may be able to come and help you.0 -
