everything ready, had a good look inside the new one, thought i could use my current monitor and keyboard so had to sort that out, now i need to get a wi fi dongle thing to save having to swap all the leads back and forth. wanted to print instructions off but pc hates the heat and the printer decided not to print. all sorted now. thank you.
You might still need the old keyboard during installation if it uses a PS/2 plugs;0 -
i can't download showkey plus because the microsoft account is not recognising any devices added to it, and it says to go into settings, but neither their page or my pc has a settings section. tried looking all through the microsoft account details but nothing there.
I am going to look and find something similar that doesn't require microsoft .0 -

Switch off, take all USB sticks out. Switch on. What happens? If you put your general location in your Profile, somebody here may be able to come and help you.0

hello, okay, the logo comes up, then the box with basics at the top, and the "lets start with region, is this correct ? .".0 -
"lets start with region, is this correct ? .".
This is the new PC - yes?
Which disk drive is connected? The SSD or HDD?
If this is a new PC bought with Windows10 on the HDD it may well be going through the initial setup which starts with "What region are you in". I assume you're in the UK.
Or...wait for Everywhere...If you put your general location in your Profile, somebody here may be able to come and help you.0 -
ha ha, i put it in quotes so you wouldn't make that mistake, the box is asking is that correct, not me, yes, its the first installation set up page, the ssd has not been added yet, everywhere said to use the key app before doing anything.0
-
Ok, so this is the first time you've started the new PC; I'm guessing...
You use the keyapp on a working PC but your new PC isn't working yet.
Correct?
Are you confident to go through the set up of your new PC? Has Everywhere given you instructions? If you put your general location in your Profile, somebody here may be able to come and help you.0 -
yep, first time, eveywhere said to run the key thing, find the number, and when that was done to let him know, and then i can go ahead and add the ssd and then load windows onto the ssd. i will wait for him i think0
