Omg! That's extortionate! You think that's southern prices? I have to admit to being a cheapskate and going for a silver one instead of the white one at £95. 😂Mortgage Balance as of July 2025 £14,900.

Not sure, but their charges seem to have rocketed in the last couple of years. I'm sure the Covid levy was only £5 when I last went 6 months ago 😮!Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)

From the price, I assumed it was NHS! If that’s private that’s definitely a bargain!Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Hello!
Hope you're all well. I've been MIA the past few months, just super busy with work and family.
A little catch up, the mortgage is now under £50k at £49,400! Woohoo! I have gone over my 10% allowance but the 3% ERC is cheaper than the interest, so worth it in the long run.
I had my promotion at work and a pay rise to £23,000 pa. It's been keeping me busy but I've been enjoying it and I must be doing a good job because today my boss offered me a team leader role overseeing order processing and customer care and I would have two people working under me. Very exciting and will mean another pay rise 😀 Not sure when it will come into effect but it's too good an opportunity to pass up.
Me and OH are doing well. We haven't set a date for the wedding yet, but we're not in a rush and would like to get this mortgage paid off and into a new home first.
Quite a lot of family stuff has been going on which has kept me occupied. My nan was taken to hospital and has been diagnosed with long covid, she spent nearly 3 weeks there, but I'm happy to say she is at home now and doing well on her medication. My uncle, prompted by the thought of losing his mum before seeing him get married, then proposed to his GF and they are now getting married in August! My cousin and his wife had a baby girl, which is the first girl born into the family since me (nearly 36 years ago), so she's very special (there's been 6 boys born since me, including my cousin). Unfortunately, with the sweet comes the sour and that is my brother and his wife are splitting up, which he is devastated by as not his choice, so I'm doing my best to support him and my nephews in any way I can.
So yeah, that's been me for the past few months, but still carrying on with my mortgage free journey.
Take care all and I will be catching up with everyone's diaries asap ❤

Brilliant to see you back; you have been missed
So much news there... brilliant news about the mortgage and the promotions. Go you! Sad to hear about your brother. Hopefully they can make it as easy as they can for their children. Must be something in the air at the moment as a friend told me they had split up and I was very surprised.

It’s lovely to hear from you Jessy! Great news about the promotions 😊 sorry to hear about your brother though - it’s hard to watch a sibling go through that (harder for them of course).Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Thank you all for the kind replies ❤
Yesterday was the start of a few months of family birthdays. My youngest nephew turned 8, I didn't really think it would be best to buy him toys as they will be moving soon so just opted for money in his card. It was lovely to see him and I got lovely cuddles from all 3 of my nephews. The oldest who is now 13 and taller than me suddenly picked me up, which was quite the shock and quite frankly made me feel a bit old, because I can remember picking him up and spinning him around, making him laugh by pretending to put him in the bin like it was yesterday and now he's huge 😂😂😂
We then had a trip to the seaside with the dogs, which was lovely. Me and OH agreed last month that although being money saving is important, we do need to live too, so we're going to go on more little trips and enjoy ourselves. The dogs got some frozen yoghurt so I'm sure they agree with our decision 😂
Right, I've had my cup of tea in bed so time to get to it!
Have a great Sunday all 🙂Mortgage Balance as of July 2025 £14,900.

Thanks NG 😃
I received the £150 payment from the council this week, so I've used £100 of it to make an overpayment to the mortgage and the new total is £49,300. I would really love to get under £45k by the end of the year, so that is my target.
Payday tomorrow (thank goodness). I really need to get a few items of clothing to replace the ones that I have now worn holes in! Unfortunately, the tv license and home insurance will be coming out in June, so it might be a tight month, but I do have my birthday at the end of June, I'm hoping people will just give me a bit of money instead buying stuff I don't really need.
