Another week all done. We had the boiler serviced this week, so that's all ready for winter, not that we're planning on having the heating on much this winter, like everyone else really. We've moved the microwave to on top of the fridge freezer as we don't use it very often anymore and with limited worktop space, it's made a big difference not having it there. I'm planning on making more use of the slow cooker this year, so it now has a place to sit.
The electric and gas DD is going up next month, it has doubled, which was to be expected and we're fortunate enough that it won't have much of a bad affect on us, but we will still be careful with usage.
BF has now turned into a proper MSEr with his own spreadsheets. Bless him! We still haven't decided what sort of wedding we want to have, but there is no rush, so we'll take our time and make sure we both get something we'll be happy with.

Doesn't time fly!
It's been a busy time since I last posted with birthdays and outings but all good, apart from being a bit expensive!
First of all, I've made a couple of overpayments to the mortgage and it is now at £45,990. Still hoping to hit my target of £45k by the end of the year and it is doable.
I came off my antidepressants after talking it through with the doctor, as they were always supposed to be temporary. All good at the moment, but I did have some withdrawal symptoms in the first couple of weeks, despite weaning off them. Life is in a much different and better place than when I went on them, so I'm feeling positive. I did buy myself a Nintendo Wii to help me get a bit fitter and I've been doing yoga with it most mornings and have lost 6lbs as a result 😊
We haven't had to turn the heating on yet which is good. Although slightly worrying that it has been so mild and especially after watching Frozen Planet 2!
Then the biggest news has to be that we got another dog. Yes, that's right, 3 dogs and two humans in a one bedroom bungalow. It kinda just happened. A beautiful greyhound showed up on my Facebook timeline and we couldn't resist. 4/5 years old, used for breeding, abused, neglected and then dumped with her 5 pups. We named her Astrid (meaning divinely beautiful) she has a huge scar on her nose, so God knows what she's been through, but she's safe now and she will be loved and spoilt rotten just like the other two!

She is beautiful. The consolation from a space point of view is that at least greyhounds usually fold up small when they are asleep. She has fallen on her paws and can look forward to a better life.4

LOL, as soon as I saw your new profile pic, I zoomed in and thought "Ooh, three dogs" Then I actually scrolled down to read what you'd written, and thought "Aha, three dogs!"

@South_coast haha! I thought it was time for an updated pic 🙂
Well, a spendy day today. We booked a Christmas holiday to the Peak District. We heard from work last week that we are all getting a £400 bonus for Christmas this year, so mine and BFs combined pretty much covers the cost. Work closes down for Christmas and we have to save 6 days holiday for it, so we might as well make the most of it. We can also take BFs son with us this year. He is 15 now, so Christmas isn't as magical for him anymore and his mum is allowing us to have him Christmas day (since he turned into a teenager, she's glad to get rid of him and he is happy to get away from his mum!) I'm happy BF is now getting to spend time with him, she hasn't made it easy over the years. So three people and three dogs for a week in the Peak District at Christmas, what could possibly go wrong 😂
I've been able to claim £17 worth of Amazon vouchers from a couple of survey sites today. The dog food is on subscribe and save on Amazon, so it will contribute towards that.
We had a village market this morning, not a lot of stalls unfortunately due to the rain, but I like to try and support it. Ended up buying some liquorice for BF and a Halloween cupcake for myself, so only a fiver spent.
I think it's supposed to rain tomorrow as well, so I shall have a streaming day. Twitch have recently lowered their payouts to £50 from £100, so it shortens the time of having to wait for a bit of money from it. 🙂

Happy November!
The bills have started to go out, including the mortgage DD. A small overpayment of £25.93 made to round it down to £45,700. Feeling confident about getting under £45k by the end of the year, as there are 2 paydays still to go.
I really need to start thinking about Christmas presents for people, I've never left it this late before, but just not feeling motivated at all! I'll start with a list of who I'm buying for first, as I'm cutting a few people from last years!

Worked from home today, which is always nice and productive! Now I'm a supervisor I have an awful lot of reports to do, so it's nice to have a peaceful day at home to concentrate.
We did a slow cooker quorn roast casserole Wednesday night, which was lovely and we have enough left over for tonight's tea too. Tomorrow, my parents have invited us round for tea as my dad is trying a curry from his new recipe book looking forward to that 🙂
Plans have started for the wedding. We have a date pencilled in with a venue we like for next year. Just need to register our notice to marry and arrange for the registrar to attend on that date. Then once that is all booked we can start looking for rings, a disco, dress and suit etc! It's going to be stressful but exciting! 🙂Mortgage Balance as of July 2025 £14,900.
