Just a heads up if any of you take your nan in the car with a portable oxygen cylinder you need to inform your insurance company. When I did it for a friend who I used to take shopping it didnt cost any extra. It  and your passenger should also be in the back seat of the car with the cylinder in  the carry bag and secured with a seat belt. I dont know if this will be relevant but just thought I would mention it.

I hope your nan is feeling better soon and can get home with the help she needs. She may also be entitled to attendance allowance if she doesnt already receive it but as with any benefit if you apply I would reccommend getting help filling in the form so the right phaseology is used.

Thank you @ladyholly that info is greatly appreciated 🙂

Another NSD today and a few hours of streaming done. Dog is not limping as much after a day of rest, so fingers crossed he'll be better soon without a trip to the vets.

Lunch is ready for tomorrow when we go back to work and I've set my alarm 10mins earlier so I can get a veg stew going in the slow cooker for tea.

Loving Graham Norton's book and nearly halfway through already!

First day back at work done! I was owed 3 hours from last year so I was able to finish at 2:30pm today and then I will finish an hour earlier on Friday. I came home and streamed for a few hours, so a productive use of time.

I got up early as planned and put the slow cooker on, so we had stew and dumplings for tea 😋 The electric has gone up though and I'm tempted to throw the smart meter out the window! Ignorance is bliss as they say!

We had the meals as planned but not an NSD as I made an overpayment payment of £135.93 to the mortgage and ordered a potential wedding dress which should arrive next week.

I finished Graham Norton's book 'Holding' which I thoroughly enjoyed and I am going to start Jo Nesbo 'Blood on Snow' next.

  • We never considered mortgage OPs as a spend Jessy, more a transfer between our own accounts. I wouldn't let an OP affect future NSD streaks.

It would be even more interesting to follow your progress if you were to make streaming your main job, I think that's quite a unique prospect here on MSE/MFW!

I hope your Nan is doing well and feeling a bit better by now.

I never thought of it that way SSS, but you're right and I like it!

I would love to stream full time but with it being unpredictable, unfortunately, I can't just quit my job now and go for it. I would have to have the mortgage paid off, so I would only have bills to worry about which would be split with BF or a lot of savings to cover for a year to give it a fair chance. One day though!

My nan is doing better thanks, but not home yet :(

We had spaghetti hoops on toast for lunch and then left over stew and dumplings for tea. BF has taken our boy dog to the vets as he's still limping, waiting for him to come back now for the outcome. I'm sure it won't be cheap, but the insurance is there if we need it.

I get to work from home tomorrow which I'm looking forward to as I have a lot of reports to do from the end of December and it's nice to have the peace and quiet to do them.

The mortgage is now £44,300. I don't see why at the end of Jan that that can't be under £44k (As long as there is no unexpected expenditure for the rest of the month).

Boy dog got some medication from the vets, has to rest and will need to go back for a check up in 2 weeks. It cost £83! Unfortunately, they also found an arrhythmia, so they have put him on the waiting list to see the doggy cardiologist in 6-12 weeks. Hopefully it won't be anything that affects him too much, but we will have to wait and see. Bless him.

An NSD today with working from home. We had soup for lunch and then we are having quiche, salad and potato wedges for tea.

Had an interesting work webinar today about retrofitting and how our windows and doors are good for the environment. While looking at the slides, there was a building with a green roof and it made me curious as to whether it's something we could potentially do on our bungalow. We have a flat roof and it could benefit us with helping in insulating the bungalow and it would be good for the environment. Definitely something to think about in the future.

    Yay it's Friday!

Work is all done for the week, thank goodness. My parents are taking us out for breakfast tomorrow which I'm looking forward to. Lunch was a cheese salad sandwich and then I'm going to make pasta with garlic bread for tea, so a NSD.

I counted up some cash received for Christmas and BF paid it in at the post office, so I have made an overpayment to the mortgage this afternoon of £100. Mortgage Balance is now £44,200 🙂

  • Sorry to hear about all the drama Jessy. Glad that it was only smoke, and a small cut, and that your nan is doing well. The walker sounds like a good idea, but I know what you mean about pride getting in the way. It's a shame, and I can't really understand it, but in their shoes it must make sense, I dont think it's uncommon to resist assistance tools. Here's to a calmer week this week!
