Thank you NG x
Exactly a month after she passed, we had my nan's funeral today. Lots of family and friends and even though it snowed it didn't stop anyone attending. It was a lovely send off for her.
It's been a struggle the past month, I've been trying to do what I can to help out with my nan's funeral while dealing with my own grief, work has been very full on with getting more responsibilities and then trying to plan the wedding, it's left me stressed and exhausted, so I've taken a few days off work this week to rest up and go back fresh on Monday.
That being said I have made an overpayment of £269.08 to the mortgage and the new balance is £43,300. My target for this year was £37,000, I'm not sure I'll get there with the wedding but I'd be very happy with £40k.
The wedding venue is all paid now. Rings are bought and I have my dress. Food is sorted and just needs paying for and we've ordered our invitations. We've contacted an entertainment company about the disco and a bakery for the cake. We've got the registrar booked and just need to pay that. So much to sort and unfortunately to pay for! 😂Mortgage Balance as of July 2025 £14,900.

Thanks MFD x
Been a little while since I posted and a lot going on.
I made an overpayment of £354.95 which means the mortgage is now at £42,800. Getting closer to those 30s!
After my nan passing, my mum's MS getting worse and for my own mental/physical well being I asked work if I could reduce my hours from 40 to 35 and they agreed. I started working 8am - 3:30pm this week. That extra hour makes the world of difference, I can get some washing on or a bit of cleaning done, take the dogs for a nice walk and pop in to see my mum and then get a nice tea on. When the weather improves I'll be able to go round and sit in the garden with my mum and spend more time with her. I haven't lost my supervisor role at work, so I'm still on enough to OP every month and put some into savings, although I am being monitored to make sure all my work is still getting done and my team aren't falling apart without me for an hour a day 🙄
Wedding plans are still on going and I'm pleased to announce we passed the test to give notice at the registrar and are legally allowed to get married! Yay!
Hope everyone is well 🙂Mortgage Balance as of July 2025 £14,900.

I agree that just a small bit more time does make such a difference in a day. Sounds like you have a much better balance alreadyGood news on the wedding plans.2025 decluttering: 3,958🌟🥉🌟💐🏅🏅🌟🥈🏅🌟🏅💐💎🌟🏅🏆🌟🏅

Bit of drama this week with our next door neighbour saying our drain outside was overflowing into their garden. Went out armed with my new drain rods but unable to unblock it. Had to call out a local company who came an hour later and found that it was ours and the neighbour's shared drain that was causing the problem, they then agreed to split the cost 50/50, so only £45 instead of £90. Unfortunately, our houses are where the drains end for the whole row of houses in our little section, which includes a hairdressers and the old drains aren't coping with the usage, meaning we're left to deal with the mess! We're trying to get the drain plans from the council to use as proof so that we can all share the cost when they get blocked again instead of just us and our next door neighbour. A cost that we didn't need but could have been worse.
We've now found a photographer for the wedding and my parents have offered to order and pay for my bouquet and buttonholes. Another thing ticked off the list!
We've been out to the seaside with the dogs today, as we've had our latest rescue for six months now and it was her first visit to the beach. Was a lovely day for it and the hot donuts were divine!

Oh wow what a cutie! Great idea reducing your working hours if you are able too Jessy 🙂MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁3

Aw, she's lovely 🥰 Hope you can share the cost of the drains, doesn't seem fair to land it on just two houses!3

just delurking to say that usually shared drains (so they don’t just contain your waste water) are now the responsibility of the local water authority, so it might be worth checking with your authority? Hope that’s the case for you and your neighbour.3

Thanks NG & Cheery 🙂 Thank you @listoflists I will have a look into that 😀
A quiet few days here. Saturday we took advantage of the nice weather, did our washing and then took it to my parents house to hang out on their line. Hopefully more nice weather will be on the way now, so we can do this every week. I then streamed Saturday evening and most of yesterday. I should be getting a pay out of £50+ from my streaming this week, which will be a bonus op on the mortgage for April.
Today has just been a relaxing one to finish off before going back to work tomorrow. I've got a few birthdays coming up towards the end of the month, so I want to get back on with making my own cards. I'm also going to take a leaf out of cheery's book and use some leftover fabric to make gift bags.Mortgage Balance as of July 2025 £14,900.
