πŸ˜‚ Excellent advice there from sc!Β
What on Earth is wrong with some in-laws , I don’t get it, my MiL was very difficult in the early years although not so bad now but that’s due to me keeping a bit of a distance! If you want a good relationship with your son/daughter then welcome their partner completely (unless there’s a really good reason not to of course) good luck and enjoy that meal πŸ˜†

    Thanks NG ❀

Another quiet weekend here, I've been chilling out watching a couple of kdramas on Netflix whilst resting my ankle. If anyone likes post apocalyptic shows, I can highly recommend Black Knight, set in Seoul after a meteor has hit earth and caused it to become a desert. It's about refugees trying to survive while the rich live it up as usual. A bit of a cross between the Hunger Games and Mad Max! Only 6 episodes so not too much of a commitment either.Β

Went to the garden centre today to get the dogs some more treats. We buy them natural treats because our boy dog has a sensitive tummy, so not as easily available and not in supermarkets. They're quite gross considering I'm a veggie but I see it as the dogs having my portion of meat products so they cancel each other out πŸ˜‚ Β£40 in total but they will last a few weeks and this did include a couple of toys as I can't keep stitching up ones they currently have, which are starting to resemble Frankenstein 's monster πŸ˜‚

We were good and didn't have coffee and cake! Instead we've been munching on a stick of rock each which my parents had brought us back when they visited Wales the other week πŸ™‚

Wedding make-up was a real eye opener last year for me Jessy, the two brides makeup was great, but at dds wedding Β I found they seemed to do everyone else in the same bronze coloured makeup, I asked for dark eyes as dd wanted vintage style sort of Audrey Hepburn looking make up with red lipstick, so had to redo some of it as this didn’t happen even after I asked, I think they thought I’d want stylish and understated as mother of the bride, er no! πŸ˜‚Β

    Hope the ankle has improved!Β

Thanks NG, I just want something that makes me look glammed up but not too glammed up πŸ˜‚

Ankle is sort of the same at the moment, so I went to the doctors and they are referring me to the hospital for an x-ray to rule out a hairline fracture. They also prescribed me some painkillers, which I will pick up this morning from the chemist. I will then look forward to a very chill weekend πŸ˜‚ Advised my boss that I will continue to work from home for the time being. Home is a bungalow whereas work is a poorly converted grade 2 listed pub into an office with a lot of steps, so i've got no chance!I

Thursday with the in-laws was ok, I just say quietly while they talked. Although one of the very few questions to me was 'So hop-along, you gonna be alright for the wedding then?' Just what I needed to be asked with already enough on my mind! πŸ™„
I took SC's advice though and ordered some extra which I then had for dinner yesterday!Β

We're taking the dogs to a dog park today to meet up with some other sighthounds and their owners. I'm really looking forward to getting out of the house and I've checked the place we're going to and it has benches, so I can just sit and enjoy the sunshine, the dogs having fun with new friends and the endless chatting about our dogs πŸ˜€

    Thanks SC πŸ˜€

Well, we had a lovely time at the park. There were 40 whippets including our oldest dog, then our other two who were allowed as well because they are sighthounds and then one odd one out Labrador πŸ˜‚ The setting was beautiful and we'd definitely go back again. We were good and took a pack up which we ate at the picnic bench that I had plonked myself on with my crutches. One lady asked me what I had done, so I explained I'd gone over on my ankle walking the dogs in a field, she said I know how you feel and revealed a large scar on her ankle. Unfortunately for her, when she had the done the same thing, she had broken her bone and it pierced the skin! Ouchie! Feeling very lucky now as it could have been a lot worse!

Shopping has been delivered and we are stocked up for the next two weeks. As usual on a shopping delivery day, we had pizza for tea as we like to get a fresh deli one.

I also had a pleasant surprise email from nationwide explaining their profits and how they're giving everyone Β£100 because of it, which I should receive next month and it will go in the wedding pot. πŸ˜€

Here's a photo of the lovely park featuring a few whippets and then three pooped out dogs on the way home πŸ™‚

    This week has flown by!
Unfortunately, dog 3 tore her dew claw last weekend running and had to have a day at the vets to be sedated and have it cut off, this cost us Β£286 πŸ™„ She had to wear the cone of shame for a few days but after a check up at the vets on Friday, she is all good again.

Wednesday, I had my x-ray at the hospital, was only out of the house just over an hour, so very impressed. No fracture, which is good, but ligament damage and soft tissue damage which arguably takes longer to heal. Painkiller and anti-inflammatory prescribed and rest. It's feeling a lot better, so braved a 15min walk yesterday and today with BF and the dogs. It was lovely to be out again, not being able to go out for walks was really beginning to have a negative effect on my mental health. I just need to not overdo it, so one walk a day will be my limit for a bit.

Wednesday was also the day plusnet were supposed to start out broadband. Well, Wednesday morning there was no sky broadband, but there was also no plusnet. I phoned them to be told it could take up to midnight that night. Luckily I'd taken the day off work due to my x-ray but when I woke Thursday and it was still not on, I was not impressed! BF took me and the dogs to my parents, so I could work from there while resting my ankle and keeping an eye on dog 3 in her cone of shame! An annoyed phone call was made to Plusnet who said it had all been set up but openreach had not done their bit. By lunchtime I had a call back saying it was all sorted after they had called openreach and BF confirmed it was indeed all working when he went home for lunch. Phew! Service was good from Plusnet to be fair to them and speeds seem good so far, so it hasn't affected my streaming.

This weekend has been mainly spent streaming. We did go out for breakfast with my parents yesterday who paid, so that was lovely. They've also booked us a nice hotel for the night of the wedding as a present, and means we don't have to worry about how we're getting home or where to stay.I

Back to work tomorrow and I'm braving the office, so we'll see how we get on! Have a good one all x
