A nice family day today. Went and sat with my mum for a bit while my dad had gone to Barnsley to watch Barnsley v Peterborough - me and mum watched on TV trying to spot him in the Peterborough supporters, we didn't 😂 I did have to giggle at one point because I'm hobbling about on crutches and mum has to use a stick for her MS, so we were quite the pair when we got up and went to go sit in the garden and enjoy a bit of sunshine.
Then this evening we went round to my brothers as it is my youngest nephew's 9th birthday, so we saw him and had some cake. It was nice to see all 3 of my nephews there, as since my brother and his wife split up last year, she's making it quite difficult for him.
I cashed out £15 via PayPal from swagbucks this morning after my points had cleared, so just waiting to get that in my PayPal account. I also joined inboxpounds and have got £2.56 on that already. I haven't been able to do any streaming as there isn't enough leg room under my desk to be able to have my foot/ankle elevated and sit comfortably, so losing money from that is frustrating. Hopefully next weekend I'll be able to get back on it.
Lunch was the rest of the quiche my mum had made with some coleslaw and potato salad that came with the shop yesterday. Tea was pasta with garlic bread and a slice of cake for supper.
Working out was is left to come out DD and food shopping wise, there should be about £150 left before payday. Just deciding whether to make an OP to the mortgage now or wait until closer to the end of the month to be safe. Think I'll go for the former! I do love seeing that mortgage go down! 🙂Mortgage Balance as of July 2025 £14,900.

MAKE THE OP!!! It will feel so good (but then I am a bad influence) 😀!
You could always pay £100 now and hold back £50 just in case something comes upMortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)

Haha SC!
I did indeed make the OP! 😂 Balance is now £42,500. Still aiming for under £40k by the end of this year. My 5 year fixed rate is up 30th June 24, so it is definitely worth paying off as much as I possibly can and hopefully I can get a good deal when I renew.
Another chill day before going back to work tomorrow. We've had corn on the cob with salad for lunch and not sure what we're going to have for tea but it'll be something already in the house.
I have sewn up a hole in one of the dog beds this morning, so it lasts a bit longer. Dog beds can be quite expensive! Luckily we do have dogs that don't destroy beds but they do like to paw at them to fluff them up for maximum comfort!
Right time to do some surveys 🙂Mortgage Balance as of July 2025 £14,900.

Is there an amount at which you can’t remortgage anymore - eg if the borrowing is too “low”?2025 decluttering: 3,958🌟🥉🌟💐🏅🏅🌟🥈🏅🌟🏅💐💎🌟🏅🏆🌟🏅

I think there might be Jess, because it has to last two years, but we’ve been offered deals by our lender and we’re down to 17k. Of course, little do they know that as soon as they fix ends, we’ll be OPing a big chunk, so it’ll actually be less than 10k. We’re currently looking at BT options for the last bit as the rate would be lower.Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Thanks SC and cheery 🙂
Oh, thanks for that Jess and Vix, tbh it never occurred to me that might be a thing! Unfortunately, I won't be down as low as vix when I come to the end of my deal next year, but hopefully around the £35K amount.
Well, nearly the end of the week and my ankle is doing much better, still a bit swollen and having to use one crutch, but hopefully we'll be able to go to the pet shop with the dogs on Saturday and maybe a cheeky coffee and slice of cake at a local cafe 😀
Our move to Plusnet broadband has been delayed from the 17th May to the 24th May, so not a great first impression but hopefully that will be the only bump in the road.
Been really tempted to try the new chippy that has opened in the village but resisting so far. BFs parents are going to visit his brother for a few days at the weekend, so are talking about coming by to see us on their way home next week and getting a Chinese takeaway, so will wait for that as they have offered to pay! I find it very difficult to be around BFs parents, they have made it very clear over the 5 years me and BF have been together that they don't like me and have said some very horrible things about me, even though I haven't done anything to them. They were very fond of BFs ex even though from what BF has told me she was quite the jealous, manipulating person and they all still talk to her on Facebook and exchange Christmas cards etc. Since BF proposed they seem to have reluctantly accepted that I'm here to stay, but I always feel like I'm walking on eggshells with them and I always find myself getting upset when they leave as they will have made some snide comment about me. I tend to hide it because I don't want it to upset BF but just the thought of seeing them makes me so anxious. Anyway, rant over, I'm not the first person to not get on with their in-laws and I certainly won't be the last!

Oh Jessy, that sounds horrible! How unkind of them to be so unwelcoming to you. Maybe things will improve slowly now you’re engaged and the wedding is coming up? I hope so!
Glad your foot is getting better. Pet shop and cafe sounds like an excellent plan for the weekend… Can I come?!Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days
