Thanks everyone ❤️
I have made a small overpayment of £62.07 which was the interest amount for July. It's annoyed me a bit really. My mortgage payment was £101 this month, the interest is £62, so most of the mortgage payment is just going towards paying the interest. This is nothing new, I know, but this morning it just proper riled me 🤣
Back to work today and it has got very busy, which in a way is nice as it makes the day go quick, but didn't feel like I achieved very much. I bought a new shower curtain which was delivered today, so I've put that up now, which makes it feel fresher in the bathroom and then we made curry for tea.
I've started listening to Dave Ramsey today after stumbling across one of his podcasts, basically an American Martin Lewis, so quite enjoying listening to how people across the pond deal with their finances. Very similar to over here with getting an emergency fund, paying off debt, paying off the mortgage, investing etc, so good to hear.Mortgage Balance as of July 2025 £14,900.

Happy Sunday everyone!
3 cleaning jobs done this week after work and then one yesterday morning. Whilst at one, the customers friend turned up and ended up taking one of my leaflets, so a potential new customer there. At the one yesterday, we've been cleaning out kitchen cupboards and I ended up coming home with a cookbook, a wine bottle stopper, those little measuring spoons on a ring and some crinkle cut scissors which will come in handy for when I cut up birthday/Christmas cards to reuse as gift tags (all with customers permission as he has no use for them). The rest of the stuff I will donate to the local thrift shop for him.
After cleaning yesterday, I came home and cleaned the house with help from DH in preparation for my friend coming over late afternoon. Me and friend then went out to a lovely pub for some food and drinks and then watched silly TV together, chatted and she slept over. We got up this morning and had coffee/tea, breakfast and more chatting and then she left at about 10:30. Washing then done, beds stripped and ready to be washed and fresh bedding put on our bed. I have then just chilled out for the rest of the day. Why do the weekends have to go so quickly?!
The normal DD came out for the month for the mortgage and then I made a small overpayment to round it down. It's now £13,600. 🙂Mortgage Balance as of July 2025 £14,900.

Oh also forgot to post this from dog/cat sitting last weekend. As you know I'm more of a dog person, cats frighten me with their sharp teeth and claws and their unpredictability! Anyway, I know several of you are cat enjoyers and I have to say my brothers cat was very pleasant and very pretty!Mortgage Balance as of July 2025 £14,900.

I am a cat person and while they probably do sometimes have a little bit of an attitude they tend to become your friend if you are feeding them

Glad you all enjoyed the kitty pic!
Well, another week done. I got a new cleaning customer who is a friend of one of my other customers and I will be going to clean for her twice a week, Monday and Friday!
It's a good job I met her really because the lady that was already my customer asked me to water her garden while she is away for a week and I started Friday evening. Got there, watering away (she has a beautiful garden but a lot of plants and pots to water) and then I saw her dining room window was open! I thought 'oh god, what do I do?!' as I only have her landline and not a mobile number 😱 Then I thought, I'll ring her friend aka new customer and she was then able to ring and get the code for the key safe. She then popped round and we were able to shut the window and then went round and checked all the other windows and doors. She then let my customer know all was OK. Phew, panic over! I do not need this kind of drama though 😅
So this week will be a busy one, I have cleaning jobs everyday apart from Sunday and then watering job every other day until Friday. It'll be worth the effort though!
Husband had to come with me yesterday, as disabled customer asked if we could move a sofa outside for him, as he is getting a new armchair which is electronic and will help him get in and out. Poor DH, he is a good egg and did indeed help me move it out. He then went home while I finished cleaning where the sofa had been and cleared some more stuff for him. I ended up coming home with a neglected house plant 🤣
In other good news is that lovely customer that was in hospital is back home and on top form as usual when I went to clean for her yesterday.
Lovely boss at work brought me a huge bag of apples, so I've baked apple flapjacks and i have just done some apple muffins, they just need taste testing, fingers crossed they're OK 🤞 I think apple crumble will be next on the list.
We've been to a whippet meet up today which was fun as always. As it was hot they had a small paddling pool which Dog 3 loved. Dog 1 and 2 went in eventually but only after I'd taken my shoes off and got in first. Paddling pool will be on the list of purchases when we get a new house with a garden 😀Mortgage Balance as of July 2025 £14,900.
