Thanks Vix, it is very frustrating and I shall be having stern words next time I see him!
Will definitely send a care package to boyo when he is settled in.
Monday is done, an OK day but I'm getting ready for some time off. We have a week off booked mid September which ties in with our wedding anniversary and it can't come soon enough. I am looking forward to the bank holiday next week though. A 2hr cleaning job done after work today and customer was very complimentary about how thorough I am, which was nice to hear. I've heard some people say that their cleaners are good at first and then don't work as hard, so I'm trying to make sure that I don't do that!
With the cleaning jobs I have this week, I'm set to make another £160 and that means another overpayment to the mortgage at the end of the week, woohoo!Mortgage Balance as of July 2025 £14,900.
Starting Mortgage Balance (June 2019) £72,000.

Sorry to hear about your friend, and all fingers crossed for treatment. Sorry to hear about your brother's cat too 🙄
Very glad about your mortgage OPs rough! 😃 Super well done 😃😃3 -
Thanks cheery ❤️
A bit of a rough week, cleaning jobs every day which has been tiring. Unfortunately, I broke the lid of a customers tea pot yesterday as well and felt so awful about it. I offered to buy her a new one or give her the money for a new one but she refused. She was so lovely about it and I was on the verge of tears as I profusely apologised. Accidents happen and she told me not to worry about it at all, but I still feel rubbish about it!
Dog 3 on Tuesday evening ripped her dew claw so it was hanging on by a thread and had to have a trip to the vets Wednesday morning to have it pulled off. She's now in the cone of shame and has antibiotics and painkillers for the next few days. That cost £140 🙄
Tonight we've been naughty and had Chinese, I just didn't have the energy to cook anything. I have two cleaning jobs tomorrow and then Sunday and Monday off. There's a few jobs to do around the house and we have a service for the boiler on Tuesday, so will have to see if I'm still able to do a mortgage overpayment.
On a good note, a lovely ex work colleague has given us a humongous marrow which I think I will roast half of and make soup out of the other half, some courgettes, tomatoes and runner beans!Mortgage Balance as of July 2025 £14,900.

Sounds like a full on week! Poor dog, I hope they are okay. Ouch to the vet bill.Sometimes a takeaway is the best option if you don’t feel up to cooking. It sounds like you earned it this week with all of your hard work.Soup sounds delicious.4

By weird coincidence my cleaner also broke our teapot this week (not just the lid), must be something in the air! I did get mine from Buy Nothing for free and it’s only DH that used it so we aren’t that bothered. I’m more annoyed DH broke a saucer so we don’t have enough for the cups and you can’t buy those ones anymore!2025 decluttering: 4,392 🌟🥉🌟💐🏅🏅🌟🥈🏅🌟🏅💐💎🌟🏅🏆🌟🏅🌟2025 use up challenge: 345🥉🥈🥇💎🏆Mini freezer challenge +3/-20Big kitchen declutter challenge 115/1502025 decluttering goals I Use up Challenge: 🥉365 🥈750 🥇1,000 💎2,000 🏆 3,000 👑 8,000 I 🥉12 🥈26 🥇52 💎 100 🏆 250 👑 5001

Thank you sunshine and Beanie x
How strange, jess! Definitely something in the air with regards to breaking teapots then 😅 I did also offer to bring the teapot home to find a replacement lid for it, so I tried all i could think of and she refused, so I really shouldn't dwell on it. At least she knows I genuinely care and am not a complete bull in a china shop! We did agree that I would bring her a house plant, one of my succulent plants keeps sprouting babies, so I'm going to pot her a couple of those up, as she loves her house plants and has a spare pot.
Yesterday I did 2 more cleaning jobs and that's it for two days. Thank goodness, I really need a rest. I made a lovely cheesy vegetable pasta bake using veg we already had but also a courgette I got from ex work friend. That made two meals, so we've had the rest for tea tonight. Today, its been a nice chill day, but I did start off with cleaning rust off the towel rail in the bathroom. Admittedly, I've been very lazy and not been cleaning it, so it had a good soaking of WD40 and then a scrub with wire wool, it looks a lot better, but I must keep on top of it. I really don't want to have to replace it when we're hoping to move in the next 12-18 months.
While I was doing that DH made soup from half of the marrow which was delicious. It made two lots so I put some in a tub and took it over to my parents house, along with a card for my step nan. My mum and step dad messaged to say how much they enjoyed the soup, so DH was happy.
We then settled down and watched Alien Romulus which started off well, but the ending was just rubbish! Followed that with Deadpool and Wolverine which I absolutely loved! Extremely funny and had some fantastic cameos. I must say we are film binging because I purchased Disney for the next two months. We wanted to watch Alien Earth, which unfortunately is only one episode weekly and then we had a few other things to watch on there. It will then be cancelled at the end of September.
Tomorrow will be another chill day. I do need to clean the bathroom floor and then the plumber comes on Tuesday to service the boiler so I want to clean out the cupboard that it's in, getting rid of anything we don't want/need and giving it a wipe. I might do the cupboard under the sink in the kitchen too while I'm at it 🤔Mortgage Balance as of July 2025 £14,900.

I suppose that's the downside of being a cleaner, you can't help but notice when things start to look at bit grubby in your own house 🤦♀️!
The cheesy vegetable pasta bake sounds epic 😋!Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)

Happy Bank Holiday Monday!
I've had a look at the bank account this morning and what I've got left to come out and I have a spare £100, so I've done a bank holiday treat and overpaid £100 off the mortgage. It now stands at £13,400 🙂
Payday is on Friday this week and I can't wait, it feels like it has been forever! I will be paying £1000 off when I get paid, so I will get to tick the £13k box off the chart. Getting so close to that £10k mark now, super exciting 😀Mortgage Balance as of July 2025 £14,900.
