Thanks sunshineli 😀
Well, went to new customer yesterday after work and cleaned the insides of her windows. Went to leave and she said 'are the 2hrs over already?' Err....you want 2hrs Monday and Friday?! (Her house does not look unclean enough for 4hrs a week!) Anyway, I'd told DH I'd only be an hour so he was putting tea on, so when I go back Friday it will be for 2hrs 😅 Lovely people anyway, which helps me feel less anxious when I'm getting used to going to a new customer and turns out the husband drinks with my brother in the local pub, so I think that helped too 🤣
Today I started work at 5am. Its been super hot in the factory with this heatwave, so we've been told we can come in and go early. Last time I wasn't included because although I work in the factory, I'm in the office which has air con, but boss said I could do this time if I wanted to. Tbh it makes sense because if the boys aren't there I can't do a lot of my work (I say boys because although they are grown men, they act like kids, for example, I had to do noise testing in different areas of the factory this morning and they nicked my noise reading device to see who could do the loudest scream 🙄 (I came second just in case you wanted to know 🤣)) Anyway, I ended up finishing at 1:30pm which was lovely. I contacted cleaning customer and was able to go to his at 2:30pm and then I got home, put some washing away and got tea on. I'm now waiting for the shopping delivery to arrive and then I can go do the watering job, before settling down for the night and another 5am start tomorrow. I've already arranged with tomorrow's cleaning customer to go round to hers early, so it means I'll finish at 3:30pm and have the rest of the afternoon/evening to chill out. I might ask boss if I could change my hours to an early start and finish permentately (maybe not 5am), but it would be very nice.
Apple muffins turned out lovely but needed more apple! Not sure why I was so stingey with them considering how many I have in the cupboard still 😷

Thanks stripey 😀
Well, we continued the 5am starts for the rest of the week and it was nice having the afternoons to get stuff done. I was feeling under the weather Thursday though and woke up with a bad stomach, so after work I postponed cleaning job until this morning. I did a 2hr cleaning job after work Friday and then had 2 this morning. I got paid for the watering garden job as well, so I've had a really good cleaning week and made £160 in total! This has given me a bit of a boost in confidence and I feel like if I were to be at risk of redundancy again, I don't need to be as worried as I have more of a back up plan. I'm not advertising my cleaning at the moment as I have enough on with the 6 customers that I have, but it makes me wonder how much I could make if I made it my fulltime job. Something to consider when we're in the new home and all settled.
We've had a mixed bag with news this week. Bad news is a good friend from work has been diagnosed with breast cancer and needs surgery and radiotherapy. We had a good cry together one morning and I have everything crossed that they get it and the radiotherapy does its job and that's that 🤞
Good news is that boyo got into university, unfortunately he didn't get the grades he needed for his first choice, but did get into his second choice. Personally, I think he's second choice is better. We are very proud of him and will hopefully get to see him before he goes, as I wanted to get him a care package together with pot noodles, shower gel, toilet rolls etc that he might need, but was a bit upset to get a message from him saying he will see if he can fit us into his schedule, but probably not 😔
Anyway, with the money I made this week I have made an op of £100 to the mortgage and it is now £13,500. Payday still isn't for another couple of weeks, but I'll see how I get on with cleaning this week and I might be able to squeeze another £100 in 🙂Mortgage Balance as of September 2025 £11,700

Thanks carboot_karaoke 😀 I have been quite the sweaty mess cleaning in this heat. Its a bit embarrassing but I think at least they know I've worked hard 😅
Today has been lovely and restful. I got up at 6am and walked the dogs. Got back into bed and DH made me a brew, then we had eggs on toast for breakfast, got up and then went out with the dogs to the local woods for a nice walk. I resubscribed to Disney this week because Alien Earth has just started on there, so we've watched that and then started Shogun. There's also a couple of kdramas I want to watch on there as well, so they've been put on the watch list.
I am very cross at my brother, he asked me to feed the cat for him while he was away with the dogs this weekend. Which I have done. When me and DH went yesterday, we thought she looked a bit big around the belly and suspected she may be pregnant. Messaged my brother to say we've fed her and I'd left his key. I asked him the question and yes, she's pregnant. She's an indoor cat but escaped for a night at the beginning of June! I'm angry because he has had two accidental litters of puppies before he got the dogs done and now the cat is pregnant because he hasn't got her speyed! It is so irresponsible. I find it particularly frustrating as someone that has two rescue dogs, that were unwanted and dumped. I'm not against people breeding their dogs and cats if it is done properly and with thought to what will happen to the litters they have, but I am angry at people like my brother who just don't bother to have their pets neutered 😡Mortgage Balance as of September 2025 £11,700

Oh Jessy, I am *so* with you! There are so many unwanted and unloved animals out there in need of homes 😔 I find it so difficult to deal with people who don't do the responsible thing or buy pets instead of adopting, so I feel for you re dealing with your brother.Sorry to hear about your work friend though - hope the treatment sorts it. And well done to boyo. I think sending him the care package once he's at uni might be a lovely surprise for him - a couple of weeks in when he's run out of the stuff his mother sent with him and he'll be super grateful!Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days
