It was a great night, Beanie. 🙂
I ended up booking yesterday afternoon off work, so i could bake some flapjack and have a rest before going out (I'd had a terrible night's sleep Thursday night/Friday morning) I then walked round to my work bestie's with snacks, drink and flapjack. We had a lovely night with two other work ladies and bestie had asked her daughter to come who is a Tropic sales rep, she gave me a facial using her Tropic stuff and it was very nice (she's had training to give facials and massages) so it was a lovely little treat.
I've had a cleaning job this morning which was clearing and cleaning out kitchen cupboards. A lot of stuff's not needed by customer so will be going to the charity shop, but I came away with a couple of hardly used cupcake and muffin trays, neither of which I have at home, so that was a nice bonus (with customers permission of course!). Me and DH have shared leftover pizza from last night for dinner today and I think I'll do pasta for tea.
Washing is done and on the airer drying, it's quite warm here despite it absolutely chucking it down. I have a cleaning job tomorrow morning and then free for the rest of the day, although I do have a customer's washing to do. No rest for the wicked! 🤣Mortgage Balance as of July 2025 £14,900.

Thought you might appreciate my hound’s look of disgust by my efforts to keep him cool. Not sure he will ever forgive me 🤣

I would say that is more a look of tolerance rather than disgust as in "Oh for goodness sake Mum". It has been a hard for furry friends with routines being disrupted and walks at strange times.3

Yesterday, I cooked a roast dinner because it was considerably cooler and I had some runner beans from a lovely bloke at work. It was delicious 😋 I then binged 'For Dogs Sake' with Pete Wickes, basically like Paul O'Gradys, For the Love of Dogs, but set at a centre of the Dogs Trust down in Essex. Absolutely heartbreaking in places and happy in others, good job I had some tissues handy as I was a sobbing mess by the end of each episode 🤣 Lots of cuddles with our dogs during and after. Plenty of washing done and dried for us and one of my customers, some of which I can take back to him tomorrow and then the rest on Saturday.
An alright day at work, a lot of data inputting which is tedious but necessary and it did make the day go nice and quick. We then had wraps for tea, using up the leftover quorn roast from yesterday.
Had my brother text me asking what I was upto at the weekend. Unfortunately, he has split up with his gf and has to work away, so has asked if I can look after his 3 dogs. As I'm soft and will do anything for my big bro, I have agreed. I will need to tie this in with cleaning jobs and other chores, then will need to sleep over Saturday night at his. He has two labradors and a spaniel, so quite a bonkers lot compared to ours!! My brother is a joiner though, so doing this favour for him now could come in handy when we move, especially if it's somewhere that needs a bit of work doing!Mortgage Balance as of July 2025 £14,900.

Thanks slm, hopefully not!
Three cleaning jobs done so far this week and then I think only one on Saturday now, as one of my customers has gone into hospital 😥 She's 93 and been getting quite disorientated and dizzy, so she has been admitted to try and find out what's wrong. Hopefully they will get her sorted ASAP, as she's a lovely lady and we like to have a giggle while I'm there cleaning. Whilst cleaning at my grandads this afternoon, I came across my nan's cookbooks and found one called Biscuits & Slices. As I've been making flapjacks lately I thought this would be useful to try something different, so I asked my grandad if I could have it and he said yes. I also found a cookbook gifted to my nan back in 1958. It had things like pheasant pie in it!
Yesterday we borrowed my parents carpet washers and did the only carpet we have which is in our bedroom. We also did the sofa with it, as it's a sofa bed you can't get the covers of the seat cushions to wash them, so this is a good way to get it clean and I like to do it at least once a year.
Tomorrow is payday, which I'm looking forward to as it means a nice payment off the mortgage, I can't wait!Mortgage Balance as of July 2025 £14,900.

Thanks Beanie ❤️
I've have just made the overpayment of £1000 to the mortgage and it is now £13,800! When the DD comes out at the beginning of August I'll make another op to round it down and then see what I can do over the course of the month using my cleaning earnings.
I've put £200 into savings so that now stands at a measly £700. I will try and keep this up as I want an emergency fund of £1000 and then savings after that will be for our move! 😁Mortgage Balance as of July 2025 £14,900.
