Thanks Beanie, I completely undersold then and went with £10. DH says I'm too soft 😅 On the plus side, no ironing required. Woohoo!
I've made a mid monthly overpayment of £100, so the new mortgage total is £20,800. I'm determined to get under £10k by the end of this year 💪
I got the email for NW about the £50 payout which was a nice surprise bonus. I also got a £50 payment from my twitch streaming. Working on getting to cash out points of a few survey websites.
I made some flapjacks the other day which I haven't done in forever and was pleased with the result, so was DH and my boss when I gave him a bit at work, it was 'banging' apparently 🤣 I'm going to try and get in the habit of doing this once a week for my sweet treat need instead of going to the shop and buying chocolate.
DH is in the process of setting up a karate club in the village, he is a black belt and 2 dan (apparently thats what you get after black belt) has taught a long time ago but wants to get back into it, so he got in touch with his old trainer who has their own club and he is going to be a branch of that. It means all the insurance etc is done through them and makes life a bit easier than just setting up on his own. He's been in touch with the village hall and put a post on the village Facebook page which got a very good response, so he is very excited. I'm proud and happy for him. It'll be good for him because when he moved here to be with me, he left a lot behind so I'm really hoping it works out well for him. He is cursing himself for not trying it sooner though.
Right, best go get ready for a quiz night with the parents! I haven't brushed up on any subjects so might not do very well, but hey ho, it's for charity 🙂Mortgage Balance as of July 2025 £14,900.

Thanks Beanie and SC ❤️
We came 3rd at the quiz night, with 111 out 120 points, so not bad at all really. We got a creme egg each 🙂 Didn't win anything on the raffle tickets though 🙄 It was a good night anyway.
Yesterday I had a cleaning job and then have had a chill day today. Plenty of washing done, including my customers, so that's all drying at the moment. We were naughty and had a pizza each from the takeaway, this has been spread over 2 meals though and we only tend to have takeaway once a month, so trying not to feel too guilty about it.
Watched a very good thriller on Netflix called Don't Move, about a woman who is the next victim of a serial killer and the killer uses a paralytic drug. Our heroine has 20 mins to escape before losing the ability to use her body and her voice. Had me on the edge of my seat and shouting at the TV! Highly recommend it if you like that sort of thing 🙂Mortgage Balance as of July 2025 £14,900.

Thanks NG ❤️
DH has been busy doing some courses for first aid and safeguarding children etc ready for starting in April. His DBS check is currently being done as well, so hopefully that will come back next week. I will be joining the adult classes that he's doing so I can get my fitness up 🙂
No cleaning jobs this weekend, so it will be a nice chill one with just the usual chores and hopefully a trip out tomorrow when the weather is a bit better.
The mortgage is at £20,800 and we get paid next Friday, which will mean I will be going into the teens! Woohoo! I have dreams of paying it off by the end of this year but that will be very difficult to achieve. I can still have a good go though 🙂
Savings is at £1,500, I'll be happy to be at £2k by the end of the year. This is doable as long as I don't have a moment and use it towards the mortgage instead 😅
Work sent letters about wage increases this week, i have had a 3% pay increase and my new wage is £30,900 pa. I cannot turn my nose up at this, it's the most I have ever been paid and is very good for the work I do. I've looked at other jobs in the area and they are all for a less amount and would mean travelling so I would be a lot worse off if I were to leave and go elsewhere. I do still have concerns about being made redundant after last year, but I have been and still am being very sensible with my money and know that if it were to happen, I don't have a lot to worry about and I am very grateful for that.Mortgage Balance as of July 2025 £14,900.

You are doing so well paying off your mortgage and I wouldn't be surprised if you were very very close to it being gone by the end of the year. Great that you have a pay rise too.
