Thanks SC and Crazybee x
You are right, 3 months wages is a lot more than 3 months expenses. Although all of the bills come out of my account, DH does contribute and gives me half, so what I have saved up would cover my half for 3 months already. Looking at it that way certainly makes it seem better 😀
A quiet few days here. With still not being 100%, I can't say I fancied going out anywhere, so it has been a weekend of walking the dogs round the village and then streaming. I made a vegetable stew in the slowcooker yesterday which we had with dumplings for tea today and there was enough for another batch which we will have for tea tomorrow. I also made some carrot and swede soup which did us for dinner yesterday and today. The shopping is coming on Tuesday and I'm happy that I've been getting it under £110 lately for 2 weeks and that includes toiletries and even my cleaning stuff. Dinner tomorrow and Tuesday will be a tin of soup from the cupboard and for tea tomorrow, we have stuff for a curry. That will see us through until the shop is delivered.
DH bought me some flowers to make me feel better after a bit of rubbish week, so it's nice to see those all cheery and colourful. He's a good egg, will have to cook him something nice for valentines day this week 🙂Mortgage Balance as of July 2025 £14,900.

DH is soo sweet to think of you and give you flowers, we should all be so lucky to have such a considerate partner.
Some people swear by having six months wages/ expenses especially now it may take longer to get a job. Also bear in mind that DH works at the same place as you if one of you go, chances are the other will too...Perhaps suggest to him to have an EF too, Just a thoughtXX

That was my thought too. If the company goes bust you would both loose your jobs so you will both need a EF to cover the expensesMe, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

Thanks both. This has already been considered and I am happy to report that my MSE ways have rubbed off on DH and he is now a big saver, so I don't need to worry about anything from his side of things 🙂Mortgage Balance as of July 2025 £14,900.

Streaming has been fun this weekend, I've been playing a cowboy game and even bought a stetson to wear. My American viewers haven't been overly impressed with my attempts at American accents though 🤣
Glad your grandad having fun
So sorry re your cleaning client, sounds like you bring a lot of joy to your clients
Well done on the OPsDON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.
