A nice day has been had. We had a bit of a lazy morning and a fried egg sandwich for breakfast, I got some washing done, which is now dried and put away.
We went over to my grandads and had some time with the family, most of whom we don't see very often as they dont live locally and had some cake. Grandad was very chuffed with everyone being there ❤️
I've cashed out a payment on mingle (which is a survey app if you haven't heard of it), the payout is a strange £16 amount but hey ho, every little helps! Very close to a payout on norstat and swagbucks, so should reach both of those this week.
I've been looking at houses on rightmove and I know I'm a year away from paying off this mortgage but I'm thinking it might be good to start looking and maybe viewing some so that we know what we really want/need and what we're willing to compromise on, what do you think? My only reservation is that it might make me feel a bit down if I find somewhere perfect and we can't have it because it's too soon 🤔Mortgage Balance as of July 2025 £14,900.

Looking at Rightmove is fine, but if you're not in a position to move then I wouldn't go to look at houses. It annoys both sellers and estate agents if you're not actually ready to proceed in any way as you're mostly just wasting their time.
Instead over the coming year, start making a note of the things that really annoy you in your house, or the things that you really appreciate and would want to carry over. For us we'd definitely want to keep off-street parking and a decent sized living room, but I want a separate dining space (or a kitchen with room to eat in), and either a small utility room or possibly a downstairs toilet."You won't bloom until you're planted" - Graffiti spotted in Newcastle.

I think I wouldn’t look in person unless I knew I could go for it even if it wasn’t great timing. So if it really was your perfect home 🤔 looking online is a given, I do it whether I’m planning on moving or not 😬MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁3

You are right Vintage and I don't want to waste people's time. I think I'm just getting itchy feet now and want to get some ideas and to know what I'm working so hard to achieve, if that makes sense.
NG, should have known you'd be all over rightmove 🤣
Well, that's Monday done and it wasn't a bad one. I'm sort of in my new role now, so I'd produced a PowerPoint presentation for training purposes and me and my new boss rolled that out to some of the guys this morning. I took chocolate hobnobs with me to make them happy whilst doing the training and it seemed to work 🤣
I've streamed this evening and then I have a new cleaning customer to go tomorrow after work, so all good so far.Mortgage Balance as of July 2025 £14,900.

Well, the weekend's nearly over, but it has been a good week.
Went to my cleaning customer on Tuesday, who was very nice and chatty, so I ended up staying 10mins extra because we were talking about TV shows and films we've been watching. He's an amputee who doesn't get out much, so I think he liked having a bit of company and someone to talk to if only for an hour.
Thursday was another cleaning job but it was for my grandad, so although I'm cleaning, it was another pleasant hour spending some time with him. He took great pleasure in telling me that he had been having some of the craft beers/ales he got for his 90th birthday with the different flavoured leftover crisps from his party last week. He's very much living the dream 🤣
Friday I moved back into the factory office at work, which I am very happy about because it means I'm back to doing the job I enjoy!
Weekend has been for chores and streaming. I made veggie stew in the slowcooker yesterday which we had for dinner today and the rest will be for tea tomorrow. I also made swede and carrot soup which we've had for tea and have enough left for dinnertime tomorrow. The shopping is being delivered Tuesday and we finally get paid on Friday, it feels like it's been years since the payday before Christmas!
Streaming has been fun this weekend, I've been playing a cowboy game and even bought a stetson to wear. My American viewers haven't been overly impressed with my attempts at American accents though 🤣
I've started reading Monty Don's book Nigel, My Family and Other Dogs, which I'm enjoying so far. I haven't watched Gardeners World for a few years as I don't have a garden at the moment, but it's made me think how much I miss it, so I will be back to tuning in when it starts again this year 🙂Mortgage Balance as of July 2025 £14,900.

Thanks Beanie and crazybee x
I don't having any cleaning jobs until Thursday this week and then 2 on Saturday, so I streamed last night and then tonight we've had the shopping delivered. We are absolutely chocca in the fridge and cupboards because I was very silly and didn't check what we already had before ordering more. I don't know why, it just completely slipped my mind and I just ordered what we usually have! Anyway, it's fair to say we're well stocked and it means there is no excuse for takeaways!
