Payday! Woohoo!
I've also had today off, so it has been a good day. I have overpaid the mortgage by £1001.09 and it is now £22,600. 😃
I've had a nice day, doing that overpayment, popped £150 into savings and I will put £50 into the premium bonds shortly. It's been nice just to have some me time. I feel like lately it has been doing a lot of things for other people, whether it be at work or home, so it was nice to take the dogs out this morning and then go back to bed with a cup of tea. I had a nice long shower (not very mse, I know), then did a bit of cleaning before walking the dogs at dinnertime. I then made me and DH mozzarella and cherry tomato toasties (thank you for this Queenjess!) when he came home on break. Then watched a couple of things on my 'to be watched' list, a little snooze and then a nice long late afternoon walk with the dogs. DH bought chips home for tea (his suggestion so he paid) and now chilling out reading diaries and then will read some more of my book. If only I could do this everyday for a living 🤣

Thanks crazybee 🙂
Thanks SC and that is very true. I did consider a bath but I'm too impatient to wait for it to fill up and then when i get in, I get bored! 🤣
Two cleaning jobs done this morning and another booked in for Tuesday after work. I did start feeling a bit rough when I finished so I've had a chilled afternoon. I've been really good this past year and have been taking a daily multivitamin and I haven't really suffered from a bad cold at all. When I did have a bit of cold, it wasn't as bad as previous ones and I only felt badly for a couple of days, so I'm hoping this time will be the same if something does develop.
Tomorrow is the first whippet meet up of 2025, so I'd really like to be well for that. We've then got a fake roast ham in the freezer which I'm planning on doing with some veg, roast potatoes and Yorkshire puds for a nice Sunday dinner. Then it will be streaming for the rest of the afternoon. I bought a new game in the steam sale which was £11.49, down from £24.99, so I need to finish the one I'm on now so I can get on to that 🙂
Also, completely forgot until reading other diaries that Feb and March are the two months without council tax. I see another OP on the horizon! 😃Mortgage Balance as of July 2025 £14,900.

Thanks, NG, but unfortunately we decided not to go. We both woke up feeling rubbish and with it being an hour journey to the place and then standing around for a couple of hours and then an hours journey back, we thought it would it best to stay nice and cosy instead.
I've put the veggie roast dinner in the oven and also made some carrot and parsnip soup, as I'm following the rule of starve a fever, feed a cold!
Unfortunately, a cold means I may have to cancel my cleaning job on Tuesday as I would feel awful giving it to my amputee client who struggles to get out as it is ☹️
I'm thinking today would be a good day for a review of bills and plotting for the future. After having a look at Facebook earlier, I read the sad news that someone I went to High school with and still have the occasional chat with, has suddenly lost her husband. He was a little bit older than her, but sill only late 40s and they had a 6 year old son together, so absolutely devastating news for them. Certainly makes you grateful for what you have ❤️Mortgage Balance as of July 2025 £14,900.

Me and DH forced ourselves out for a walk yesterday afternoon around the local woods. It was a lovely day and a lovely walk, but we were both knackered by the time we got home
.
It did DH good because he was fine this morning. I, on the other hand, had a rude awakening of having to rush to the toilet to be sick this morning. I'd been up most of the night with this blasted cold and then I think because of all the yuck I made myself sick. Thankfully, it was just a one off and I have been fine the rest of the day, keeping food and drink down, but it did mean I had to call in sick to work. Should be all good to go back tomorrow though after a day of rest.
I did log onto the mortgage this morning and made a small overpayment to round it down after my normal DD had come off. The balance is now £22,400.Mortgage Balance as of July 2025 £14,900.

Thanks crazybee.
Feeling a little better today, but it feels like my head has an elastic band round it and didn't get a lot of sleep from coughing and blowing my nose, so another day at home for me. DH walked the dogs for me first thing this morning but I took them out around 11am for a bit of fresh air and will take them shortly for another little walk after the kids coming out of school have dispersed.
We had the rest of the carrot and parsnip soup for dinner, so that was nice and easy and I have pizza in the freezer which I will do for tea.
All being well it will be back to work tomorrow anyway. I did have rearrange my cleaning customer from today until next week but it's for the best, don't want to be spreading this around.Mortgage Balance as of July 2025 £14,900.

Just had a phone call from a cleaning customer's son to let me know that his mum had passed away this morning. I'm absolutely gutted, she was such a lovely lady, who I came to think of as a friend. She would always say 'I'll leave you to it' but then would grab a stool and come and chat to me. Telling me stories about her life, her children and grandchildren. Her son said that he wanted to let me know because she would talk about me to him and what we'd chatted and laughed about while I was there. I've asked if it would be possible to let me know when the funeral would be as I would like to pay my respects. 😥Mortgage Balance as of July 2025 £14,900.
